Fast‐Responding O2 Gas Sensor Based on Luminescent Europium Metal‐Organic Frameworks (MOF‐76)
Luminescent MOF‐76 materials based on Eu(III) and mixed Eu(III)/Y(III) show rapid and reversible changes in emission intensity in response to O2 with very short response times. The effect is based on triplet quenching of the linker ligands that act as photosensitizers. Average emission lifetimes of a few milliseconds turn out to be mostly unaffected by

On the Approximation of a Distribution Function by an Empiric Distribution
Let $x_1, \cdots, x_n$ be independent chance variables with the common distribution function $F(x)$ and the empiric distribution function $F^\ast(x)$. Let $a_n$ be the value of $a$ which minimizes (1) below. In this paper the asymptotic distribution of $\sqrt{n} a_n$ is obtained, subject to certain restrictions on $F(x)$.

This study introduces an innovative approach to image classification that uses Gaussian copulas with an Empirical Cumulative Distribution Function (ECDF) approach. The strategic use of distribution functions as feature descriptors simplifies the approach

Exploring the photocatalytic reverse water–gas shift (RWGS) reaction on doped SrTiO3 nanoparticle films, reveals that normalizing catalytic rates by the catalyst's specific surface area (SSA) disentangled surface area effects from the catalyst's intrinsic material properties.

Multivariate quantile inactivity time with medical applications
The concept of α-quantile inactivity time was developed for situations with bivariate or multivariate random lifetimes. In this situation, each element has a specific history related to itself, indicating that the corresponding event occurred earlier ...

Anisotropic Shear Properties of Organic Interfaces in Bio‐composite Materials
A novel cantilever design enables direct probing of shear properties at single organic interfaces within biocomposite prismatic ultrastructures. By decoupling lateral and torsional shear responses, the method reveals isotropic behavior in Atrina vexillum and pronounced anisotropy in Unio pictorum.

REMARKS ON SOME SMOOTHED EMPIRICAL DISTRIBUTION FUNCTIONS AND PROCESS [PDF]
Summary: It is shown that under mild assumptions, a convolution-smoothed empirical process exhibits essentially the same asymptotic properties as the standard empirical process such as: a pointwise law of iterated logarithm, weak convergence to Brownian bridge, and the Chung-Smirnov property.
