Comparing Distribution Functions via Empirical Likelihood
This paper develops empirical likelihood based simultaneous confidence bands for differences and ratios of two distribution functions from independent samples of right-censored survival data. The proposed confidence bands provide a flexible way of comparing treatments in biomedical settings, and bring empirical likelihood methods to bear on important ...

Bounds for weighted multivariate empirical distribution functions [PDF]
Let \(X_ 1,X_ 2,..\). be a sequence of independent random vectors having the uniform distribution on \((0,1)^ d\), \(d\in {\mathbb{N}}\) arbitrary, and \(\hat F_ n\) the empirical distribution function at stage n.

ABSTRACT Background Psychological safety (PS) is essential for teamwork, communication, and patient safety in complex healthcare environments. In pediatric oncology, interprofessional collaboration occurs under high emotional and organizational demands. Low PS may increase stress, burnout, and adverse events.

Estimation of monotone bivariate quantile inactivity time with medical applications
In most lifetime models, the bivariate -quantile inactivity time is a vector of increasing functions. A novel estimator of this vector was created and investigated under this assumption.

Time after time – circadian clocks through the lens of oscillator theory
Oscillator theory bridges physics and circadian biology. Damped oscillators require external drivers, while limit cycles emerge from delayed feedback and nonlinearities. Coupling enables tissue‐level coherence, and entrainment aligns internal clocks with environmental cues.

Bounds for Weighted Empirical Distribution Functions
Let $G_n$ be the empirical distribution based on $n$ independent uniform random variables. Criteria for bounds on the supremum of weighted discrepancies between $G_n(u)$ and $u$ of the form: $|w_\nu(u) D_n(u)|$, where $D_n(u) = G_n(u) - u, w_\nu(u) = (u(1 - u))^{-1 + \nu}$ and $0 \leq \nu \leq 1$, are derived.

Statistical characteristics of earthquake magnitude based on the composite model
Threshold selection is challenging when analyzing tail data with a generalized Pareto distribution. Data below the threshold was not used in the model, resulting in incomplete characterization of the whole data. This paper applied the Gamma distribution,

A‐to‐I editing of miRNAs, particularly miR‐200b‐3p, contributes to HGSOC progression by enhancing cancer cell proliferation, migration and 3D growth. The edited form is linked to poorer patient survival and the identification of novel molecular targets.
