A Systematic Comparison of Alpha‐Synuclein Seed Amplification Assays for Increasing Reproducibility
ABSTRACT Seed amplification assays (SAAs) enable ultrasensitive detection of misfolded α‐synuclein across biofluids and tissues. Yet, heterogeneity in protocols limits cross‐study comparability and clinical translation. Here, we review α‐synuclein SAA methods and their performance across various biological matrices.

A basic result of large deviations theory is Sanov's theorem, which states that the sequence of empirical measures of independent and identically distributed samples satisfies the large deviation principle with rate function given by relative entropy ...

Neuronal Data Analysis Based on the Empirical Cumulative Entropy
We propose the empirical cumulative entropy as a variability measure suitable to describe the information content in neuronal firing data. Some useful characteristics and an application to a real dataset are also discussed.

Objective Sjögren's disease is an autoimmune disorder that can impact multiple organ systems, including the peripheral nervous system (PNS). PNS manifestations, which can exist concurrently, include mononeuropathies, polyneuropathies, and autonomic nervous system neuropathies.

Study and Application of Grey Entropy Weight Decision Making in Risk Management
In traditional risk evaluation, the weight of a risk index is given in advance, so it lacks objectivity. Using weights and properties generated by entropy concepts, including the idea of information entropy, the comprehensive weight, which can be ...

Large Deviation Principle for Empirical Fields of Log and Riesz Gases [PDF]
We study a system of N particles with logarithmic, Coulomb or Riesz pairwise interactions, confined by an external potential. We examine a microscopic quantity, the tagged empirical field, for which we prove a large deviation principle at speed N.

An empirical evaluation of entropy-based traffic anomaly detection [PDF]
Entropy-based approaches for anomaly detection are appealing since they provide more fine-grained insights than traditional traffic volume analysis. While previous work has demonstrated the benefits of entropy-based anomaly detection, there has been little effort to comprehensively understand the detection power of using entropy-based analysis of ...

Objective We examined whether 18 months of strength training in individuals with knee varus alignment and medial tibiofemoral osteoarthritis (OA) reduced knee joint loads during walking compared to an attention control group. Methods This study was a secondary analysis of a randomized clinical trial that compared the effects of strength training to a ...
