Circulation Pattern Associated With Record 2025–26 North American Winter May Become More Common
Abstract The 2025–26 late‐fall and winter climate pattern featured an extreme upper‐tropospheric zonal geopotential height gradient across North America, consisting of an amplified west ridge and an east trough, which produced record warmth and low snowpack across the western United States alongside severe cold and winter storms in the east.

The Use of "EOF" in the Mean Sea Level Oscillations Study An Application to Cadiz [PDF]
Oscillation modes in mean sea level in the port of Cadiz are computed and analyzed from simultaneous water level and atmospheric pressure records. Empirical Orthogonal Function Decomposition (EOF), cross spectral and least square harmonic analysis are ...

Convection Velocity Covariance Estimated From SuperDARN Observations
Abstract An examination of the spatial covariance of the high‐latitude plasma convection velocity is presented. The covariance was calculated from patterns of plasma convection estimated from Super Dual Auroral Radar Network observations. The convection patterns were calculated on a magnetic latitude—magnetic local time grid from 55° ${}^{\circ}$ to 88.

Baffin Bay Freshwater Content Seasonal Variability and Budget: A Modeling Approach
Abstract Baffin Bay plays a significant role as an exporter of freshwater from the Arctic to the North Atlantic. However, we still do not completely understand how this freshwater is stored and transformed within the bay before it exits. Here, we use a six‐member ensemble built using the Nucleus for European Modelling of the Ocean (NEMO)—at 1/4 ...

The purpose of this study is to apply EOF method on shoreline change resulting spatialtemporal analysis mode 1 and also to to prove the mean behavior on the spatial or temporal of its EOF outcomes. The data used was obtained from shoreline coordinates of shp file of the Bali island map and the result of breaking waves study, by using a one-dimensional ...

Application of Empirical Orthogonal Function Models to Analyze Shoreline Change at Bangkalan Madura [PDF]
Bangkalan’s shoreline, especially on the opposite side of Surabaya, has been evaluated to determine the morphological changes due to wave attack, near-shore current, long-shore sediment transport and coastal configuration. This research aims to determine
