Starting with the Stoics’ notion of self-regulation, we discuss philosophical conceptualizations and juxtapose them with empirical evidence from psychology and cognitive neuroscience. We disagree with a strong mainstream account that excludes the possibility of free will.

DNA‐Origami‐Assembled Rhodium Nanoantennas for Deep‐UV Label‐Free Single‐Protein Detection
Deep‐UV autofluorescence of single proteins in DNA origami‐based rhodium nanoantennas. Precisely positioned within the plasmonic nanogap, proteins retain their native state while their intrinsic emission is strongly amplified, enabling label‐free single‐molecule detection and opening new opportunities for highly sensitive and specific biosensing ...

The Earned Income Tax Credit [PDF]
Since its inception in 1975, the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) has grown into the largest, Federally-funded means-tested cash assistance program in the United States. In this chapter, we review the political history of the EITC, its rules and goals and

A large number of MoS2 flakes were screened to obtain high‐quality flakes based on optical intensities in R, G, and B channel images. The flakes were classified from Level 1 to 6 based on optical intensities in the R, G, and B channel images. Low‐quality flake exhibited wrinkled, folded, or overlapped features, while high‐quality displayed a neat ...

Algorithmic Design of Disordered Networks With Arbitrary Coordination: Application to Biophotonics
Predictive Design of Disordered Networks: Disordered network‐like morphologies are abundant in nature, from cytoskeletal networks to bone structures and chalcogenide glasses. These structures are naturally hard to characterize. A new algorithmic tool extends the established Wooten–Weaire–Winer (WWW) algorithm to valencies above 4.

Assembly of Cell‐Seeded 3D Printed Hydrogel Modules with Perfusable Channel Networks
Macroscale assembly was utilized to prepare perfusable tissue constructs from individually 3D printed hydrogel modules with embedded branched channel networks and port arrays for cell seeding. Novel multi‐material bioreactors were fabricated to facilitate the gluing of individual modules and the perfusion culture of assembled modular constructs seeded ...

High‐Throughput Exfoliation of Optoelectronic‐Grade MoS2 via Turbulent‐Flow Wet Jet Milling
A scalable wet jet milling exfoliation method is demonstrated for producing optoelectronic‐grade MoS2 nanosheets using environmentally friendly ethyl cellulose in ethanol dispersion media. Guided by fluid dynamics modeling, this approach is optimized to achieve record‐high exfoliation throughput and concentration.
