Research Findings on Empirical Evaluation of Requirements Specifications Approaches [PDF]
Numerous software requirements specification (SRS) approaches have been proposed in software engineering. However, there has been little empirical evaluation of the use of these approaches in specific contexts.

An empirical study on the estimation of size and complexity of software applications with function points analysis [PDF]
Empirical studies are important in software engineering to evaluate new tools, techniques, methods and technologies in a structured way before they are introduced in the industrial (real) software process. Perform empirical studies in a real context is

Emotion Classification on Software Engineering Q&A Websites
Background: With the rapid proliferation of question-and-answer websites for software developers like Stack Overflow, there is an increasing need to discern developers’ emotions from their posts to assess the influence of these emotions on their ...

An all‐in‐one analog AI accelerator is presented, enabling on‐chip training, weight retention, and long‐term inference acceleration. It leverages a BEOL‐integrated CMO/HfOx ReRAM array with low‐voltage operation (<1.5 V), multi‐bit capability over 32 states, low programming noise (10 nS), and near‐ideal weight transfer.

Fast‐Responding O2 Gas Sensor Based on Luminescent Europium Metal‐Organic Frameworks (MOF‐76)
Luminescent MOF‐76 materials based on Eu(III) and mixed Eu(III)/Y(III) show rapid and reversible changes in emission intensity in response to O2 with very short response times. The effect is based on triplet quenching of the linker ligands that act as photosensitizers. Average emission lifetimes of a few milliseconds turn out to be mostly unaffected by

A Unified Checklist for Observational and Experimental Research in Software Engineering (Version 1) [PDF]
Current checklists for empirical software engineering cover either experimental research or case study research but ignore the many commonalities that exist across all kinds of empirical research.

We Don't Need Another Hero? The Impact of "Heroes" on Software Development
A software project has "Hero Developers" when 80% of contributions are delivered by 20% of the developers. Are such heroes a good idea? Are too many heroes bad for software quality?
