ELABELA Targets Mitochondria to Modulate Heart Development
Advanced Science, EarlyView.The role of peptide ELABELA (ELA) in cardiomyocyte apoptosis and congenital heart disease (CHD) is unclear. ELA deficiency caused cardiomyocyte apoptosis and CHD. A novel ELA‐APJ‐AKT‐BCL2/BAX axis in regulating mitochondrial function and contributing to CHD pathogenesis was established.

Causal Prediction of TP53 Variant Pathogenicity Using a Perturbation‐Informed Protein Language Model
Advanced Science, EarlyView.A TP53‐specific predictor, CaVepP53, is developed by fine‐tuning ESMC on experimentally validated variants, quantifying pathogenicity via Euclidean distances. Advanced Science, EarlyView.We identify a Lepidoptera‐conserved testis‐specific arylalkylamine N‐acetyltransferase (LTNAT) that governs male moth fertility via a novel mechanism. LTNAT loss disrupts eupyrene sperm mitochondrial derivatives and impairs apyrene sperm motility, offering a safe molecular target for innovative pesticides and genetic pest control.
