A microbenchmark characterization of the Emu chick [PDF]
The Emu Chick is a prototype system designed around the concept of migratory memory-side processing. Rather than transferring large amounts of data across power-hungry, high-latency interconnects, the Emu Chick moves lightweight thread contexts to near-memory cores before the beginning of each memory read.

Laser‐assisted synthesis enables rapid (within 1 h) and high‐yield (≥90%) production of Co‐MOFs with mesoporous structures, tunable magnetic and optical properties, and efficient adsorption of N2, CH4, and CO2 for low‐energy gas separation. DFT calculations elucidate the electronic structure and adsorption behavior.

EU Economic Governance Reform: Are We at A Turning Point? [PDF]
The sovereign debt crisis is creating enormous anguish in the EMU. Not surprisingly, emergency measures continue to be used at a time when a sort of economic recovery seems to be underway.

This article considers the role of fiscal policy within a European Monetary Union. There are two quite different issues. The first is the medium-term problem of deficits and debt. The Maastricht fiscal convergence criteria are usually seen as an imperfect response to the need to contain potentially ‘irresponsible’ fiscal authorities.

Magnetic Textiles: A Review of Materials, Fabrication, Properties, and Applications
Magnetic textiles (M‐textiles) are emerging as a programmable materials platform that merges magnetic matter with hierarchical textile structures. This article consolidates magnetic material classes, textile architectures, and fabrication and magnetization strategies, revealing structure–property–function relationships that govern magneto‐mechanical ...

History of an Incomplete EMU [PDF]
AbstractThe Economic and Monetary Union (EMU) created in 1992 by the Maastricht Treaty was famously incomplete. The decision to create a European single currency was taken without agreeing at the same time on the introduction of traditional accompanying features of some other monetary unions, namely: substantial financial transfers from richer to less ...

Will EMU Increase Eurosclerosis? [PDF]
In this paper we study the relationship between labour market institutions and monetary policy. We use a simple macroeconomic framework to show how optimal monetary policy rules depend on labour institutions (labour adjustment costs, and nominal and real wage rigidity) and social preferences regarding inflation, employment, and real wages.

A wet ball‐milling method is presented to synthesize iron magnetic nanoparticles and evaluate their magnetic hyperthermia performance. Optimized particles (∼270 nm, Ms ∼114 emu/g) achieve ∼50°C heating under clinically safe alternating magnetic fields, while pulsed‐field operation enables controlled temperature regulation (∼30°C).

Endogeneity and Specialization in the European Monetary Union
There has been a broad discussion about the viability of the European Monetary Union (EMU) in its present and prospective confines. Generally, the EMU, consisting of 19 countries, is not considered an optimal currency area due to low labor market ...
