EMUL-a parallel processor emulator
MILCOM 88, 21st Century Military Communications - What's Possible?'. Conference record. Military Communications Conference, 2003EMUL is a user-friendly computer program that emulates the operation of a parallel processor. EMUL's capacity to emulate down to the chip or up to the cell level of a parallel processor gives EMUL powerful applications. Its capability to specify a parallel processor down to the chip/noise level, without regard for low-level electronic details such as ...

Brains have emulators with brains: Emulation economized
Behavioral and Brain Sciences, 2004This commentary addresses the neural implementation of emulation, mostly using findings from functional Magnetic Resonance Imaging (fMRI). Furthermore, both empirical and theoretical suggestions are discussed that render two aspects of emulation theory redundant: independent modal emulators and extra measurement of amodal emulation.

A neuro-emulator with learning and virtual emulation capabilities
Proceedings of International Conference on Neural Networks (ICNN'96), 1996In this paper we present and evaluate a novel neuro-emulator. The architecture of this neuro-emulator provides support for learning as well as handling large neural networks in virtual mode. We have identified a set of computational, communication and storage requirements for learning in artificial neural networks. These requirements are representative

Upgrading to a newer data processing system is not simply a matter of removing the old equipment and plugging in the new. The older system's workload must be transferred to the newer one/p=n-/and the newer one is usually also a fundamentally different one. The effort involved in such a conversion is massive.
