Investigations of Three‐Layer Systems Intended for Protective Clothing for Prematurely Born Babies

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, Volume 8, Issue 19, October 10, 2023., 2023
One of the major problems occurring in premature infants is high transepidermal water and heat loss, leading to the risk of hypothermia. Specialized garments with a partially permeable membrane layer are developed to solve this problem. This study evaluates two three‐layer systems for their biophysical properties as potential garments solutions for ...

Durable, Lightweight, Washable and Comfortable Cooling Textiles from Nanodiamond/Polydopamine/Wool Nanocomposites

open access: yesMacromolecular Materials and Engineering, Volume 307, Issue 5, May 2022., 2022
Nanodiamond/polydopamine/wool fiber (ND‐PDA‐wool) nanocomposites are synthesized through a facile dip‐coating approach for the development of cooling textiles. Due to the excellent thermal conductivity of ND, the temperature difference of 2.4–3.9 °C between the as‐coated wool fabrics and uncoated ones can be achieved within a short time span of 30 min.

Preparation of electrosprayed composite coated microporous filter for particulate matter capture

open access: yesNano Select, Volume 3, Issue 3, Page 555-566, March 2022., 2022
In this paper, the composite PTFE/EG coated spun‐bond PP microporous filter via electrospraying technology for PM 2.5. capture was prepared. It was found that the obtained filters composed of spherical solid particles showed a uniform stacking distribution structure, a stable hydrophobicity, and a good antifouling ability.

Modeling life‐cycle inventory for multi‐product biorefinery: tracking environmental burdens and evaluation of uncertainty caused by allocation procedure

open access: yesBiofuels, Bioproducts and Biorefining, Volume 15, Issue 5, Page 1281-1300, September/October 2021., 2021
Abstract Life‐cycle inventory (LCI) is a fundamental phase in the quantification of the environmental performance of products. However, when it comes to the LCI of a multi‐product system, discussions about the choice of the appropriate methodology to allocate environmental impacts still continue. A further system subdivision and the implementation of a

Investigating the Performances of a Coated Plain Weave Fabric Designed for Producing Protective Gowns

open access: yesAdvances in Materials Science and Engineering, Volume 2021, Issue 1, 2021., 2021
The aim of this research is to produce a substrate that can be used for the development of protective gowns. For this purpose, a cotton‐polyester blended plain weave fabric was treated with a coating paste comprising fluorocarbon and acrylic resins. The coating process parameters, which are fluorocarbon resin quantity (%), acrylic paste quantity (g m−2)
