Insights into the Mechanism of a Vanadium Bromoperoxidase from the Marine Macro‐Algae Corallina pilulifera for Biocatalytic Halogenation

open access: yesChemCatChem, EarlyView.
A study of crystallographic complexes obtained from vanadium haloperoxidase enzymes can determine key amino acids, leucine, and phenylalanine, that change their structural orientation to allow either chloride or bromide to bind to the enzymes active site, thereby determining halide specificity.

Solvent‐Driven Mechanistic Insights into Cu‐Catalyzed Asymmetric C─H Amidation via Nitrene Transfer

open access: yesChemCatChem, EarlyView.
The impact of solvent and ligand in asymmetric Cu‐catalyzed nitrene transfer into a benzylic C─H bond was investigated to provide insights to improve reaction design. Medium‐throughput experimentation, NMR, and CV studies suggest that the anti‐chelate effect on bis(oxazoline) ligands bound to Cu, as well as product inhibition, play key roles in ...

Development of Multipurpose Supported Asymmetric Salen Catalysts by Cu(0)‐Mediated Reversible Deactivation Radical Copolymerization

open access: yesChemCatChem, EarlyView.
The challenge of recycling heterogeneous catalysts and reusing them in different reactions was addressed. To this end, salen complexes were anchored on methacrylate insoluble polymers obtained using the Cu(0)‐mediated RDRP method. Their reactivity and recyclability were analyzed in asymmetric ring opening and dynamic kinetic resolution of epoxides ...

A Comprehensive Review of Intramolecular Hydrosilylation of Alkynes and Alkenes

open access: yesChemCatChem, EarlyView.
Intramolecular hydrosilylation is a powerful method for alkenes or alkynes functionalization, and provides easy access to silylated heterocycles. The reaction involves the addition of an Si─H bond to a C─C double or triple bond, usually in the presence of a metal catalyst. This review explores the developments in this methodology, as well as the regio‐
