Encapsulation of probiotics

2008
Microencapsulation (ME) is a technology used to ‘package’ various materials, principally solids or liquids, in miniature capsules which release their contents at controlled rates. There are many instances where it is useful to encapsulate ingredients for functional foods or nutraceuticals (FFN).

The encapsulation of tumours

Clinical & Experimental Metastasis, 1989
An understanding of the nature and significance of tumour capsules may give added perspective to our understanding of the processes of tumour invasion and metastasis. The commonly held concepts of capsule pathogenesis (the expansive growth and foreign body hypotheses) should probably be discarded as they are not supported by experimental evidence ...

A Convenient and Versatile Amino-Acid-Boosted Biomimetic Strategy for the Nondestructive Encapsulation of Biomacromolecules within Metal-Organic Frameworks.

Angewandte Chemie, 2018
Herein, an amino-acid-boosted biomimetic strategy is reported that enabled the rapid encapsulation, or co-encapsulation, of a broad range of proteins into microporous metal-organic frameworks (MOFs), with an ultrahigh loading efficiency. It relies on the

Encapsulated or Not Encapsulated? Ammonium Salts Can Be Encapsulated in Hexameric Capsules of Pyrogallol[4]arene

Organic Letters, 2016
Tetraalkylammonium salts were found, contrary to literature reports, to be encapsulated into hexameric capsules of pyrogallol[4]arene in benzene solution. The guest affinity depended on the length of the alkyl chain, the counteranion, the solvent used, the ammonium concentration, and most importantly, the pyrogallol[4]arene to ammonium salt ratio.

Encapsulation of hepatocytes by SiO2

Transplantation Proceedings, 2000
BACKGROUND & AIMS: Hepatobiliary complications occur in inflammatory bowel disease and may be caused by the translocation of intestinal toxins from portal blood into bile through leaky hepatocyte tight junctions. The role of tight junctions in the pathogenesis of hepatobiliary complications in experimental inflammatory bowel disease was ...

Encapsulation and Polymorphism

1998
This chapter discusses the encapsulation and polymorphic features of Java. It illustrates how the encapsulation facilities can allow quite fine-grained control over the visibility of elements of your programs. The concept of packages is also discussed, along with some concrete examples. The polymorphic nature of Java concludes the chapter.
