Distinct 5′ UTR Requirements for Translation of the Bicistronic X/P mRNA Among Avian Orthobornaviruses

open access: yesMicrobiology and Immunology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Orthobornaviruses express X and the phosphoprotein (P) from a bicistronic X/P mRNA, and these proteins regulate polymerase activity. In mammalian orthobornaviruses, the 5′ untranslated region (5′ UTR) of the X/P mRNA controls the translational balance between X and P and thereby promotes efficient replication.

Clinically Significant Neuroimaging Findings Among Pediatric Patients Presenting to the Emergency Department With Symptoms of Psychosis: A Multicenter Retrospective Study

open access: yesAcademic Emergency Medicine, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background The clinical utility of diagnostic neuroimaging for pediatric patients presenting to the emergency department (ED) for psychosis remains unclear. We sought to estimate the prevalence of and characteristics associated with clinically significant neuroimaging findings among pediatric patients presenting to the ED with symptoms of ...

Potential TMS biomarkers for GABAB receptor engagement in alcohol use disorder: A systematic review of existing evidence

open access: yesAlcohol, Clinical and Experimental Research, EarlyView.
This systematic review emphasizes the critical role of GABAB receptors (GABABR) in alcohol use disorder (AUD). While GABABR agonists enhance cortical inhibition, as measured by transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS)‐based markers, alcohol consumption alters GABABR ‐dependent neurophysiological measures, suggesting GABABR dysfunction plays a key role ...
