CCR5 predicts neurotoxicity in CAR‐T‐cell therapy

open access: yesBritish Journal of Haematology, EarlyView.
Patients undergoing chimeric antigen receptor T (CAR T)‐cell therapy are at risk of developing immune effector cell‐associated neurotoxicity syndrome (ICANS). We observed an upregulation of CCR5 and CCR2 expression in CD4+ T cells among patients who developed ICANS.

Defining a CMV viral load threshold for pre‐emptive therapy in paediatric haematopoietic stem cell transplant recipients

open access: yesBritish Journal of Haematology, EarlyView.
Cytomegalovirus (CMV) infection and disease are frequent complications following haematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT) in children. A common prevention strategy involves regular monitoring of CMV viral load and initiating antiviral therapy once a predefined threshold is exceeded.
