Verteporfin‐Mediated In Situ Nanovaccine Based on Local Conventional‐Dose Hypofractionated Radiotherapy Enhances Antitumor and Immunomodulatory Effect

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Here gelatinase‐responsive methoxypolyethyleneglycol–PVGLIG–polycaprolactone (mPEG–PVGLIG–PCL) nanoparticles’ loading verteporfin (N@VP) is developed, enhancing radiotherapy via X‐ray‐triggered singlet oxygen generation. Combined with 2 Gy (gray, a radiation dose unit) irradiation, N@VP achieves antitumor efficacy comparable to 8 Gy, and also promotes ...

Re: Risk of End-Stage Renal Disease Following Live Kidney Donation

open access: yesJournal of Urological Surgery, 2014
The authors compare the risk of end-stage renal disease (ESRD) in 96217 kidney donors in the United States, followed for a median of 7.6 years with that of a healthy cohort of 20024 nondonors, followed for a median of 15 years of who are at equally low ...

Targeting Splenic Myeloid Cells with Nanobiologics to Prevent Postablative Pancreatic Cancer Recurrence via Inducing Antitumor Peripheral Trained Immunity

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Using a preclinical pancreatic cancer model, we identified that tumor progression restructures splenic immunity via myeloid cell expansion. MDCa@RBC‐Alipo nanobiologics were engineered to epigenetically and metabolically reprogram splenic myeloid cells, alleviating post‐ablation immunosuppression.

Isoquercitrin Alleviates Diabetic Nephropathy by Inhibiting STAT3 Phosphorylation and Dimerization

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study identified a natural compound, isoquercitrin, which significantly alleviated kidney inflammation and fibrosis by inhibiting STAT3 activity. Isoquercitrin forms a strong, noncovalent bond that directly binds to STAT3. Isoquercitrin binds to the pY+1 pocket of the SH2 domain of STAT3 via hydrogen bonding with Ser668, Gln635, and Gln633 ...

PrPSeg: Universal Proposition Learning for Panoramic Renal Pathology Segmentation [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv
Understanding the anatomy of renal pathology is crucial for advancing disease diagnostics, treatment evaluation, and clinical research. The complex kidney system comprises various components across multiple levels, including regions (cortex, medulla), functional units (glomeruli, tubules), and cells (podocytes, mesangial cells in glomerulus).

Autophagy Related 5 Promotes Mitochondrial Fission and Inflammation via HSP90‐HIF‐1α‐Mediated Glycolysis in Kidney Fibrosis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
When the normal kidney is subjected to injurious stimuli, it can lead to persistent activation of ATG5. The activation of ATG5 promotes HSP90‐HIF‐1α interaction, resulting in stabilization of HIF‐1α and subsequent activation of glycolysis. Consequently, this process contributes to mitochondrial fission and inflammation, ultimately culminating in kidney
