End-to-end distance distribution in bradykinin observed by Forster resonance energy transfer

open access: yes, 2000
Forster resonance energy transfer (FRET) was used to study the conformational dynamics of bradykinin related peptides. the fluorescent probe aminobenzoic acid (Abz) bound to the amino terminal of bradykinin maintained its fluorescence characteristics ...

From energy provision to protein synthesis: Tunnelling nanotubes as mediators of intercellular metabolic cooperation in cancer

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
The cytoskeleton‐mediated transport of mitochondria via tunnelling nanotubes restores respiration, increases ATP production, rescues cells from apoptosis, activates the AKT/mTOR signalling pathway, promotes cell migration and invasiveness, contributes to cancer progression and treatment resistance.

MagmaFlow: A desktop platform for artificial intelligence‐driven expression analysis

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
MagmaFlow is a free, no‐code platform for gene expression analysis. It generates interactive volcano plots, links genes to literature, pathways, and diseases, prioritizes candidates using millions of publications, identifies affected biological processes, builds network diagrams, and exports publication‐ready figures and reports for macOS and Windows ...

A new flow chip in combination with multiphoton microscopy as a protocol for longitudinal 3D imaging of tissue calcification under shear stress

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Miniaturized flow chip platform enabling continuous perfusion and longitudinal multiphoton 3D imaging of vascular smooth muscle cell constructs under physiological flow. Brightfield imaging guides region selection, while CellTracker Green and mRuby‐labeled fetuin‐A visualize cells and mineral deposition, respectively. Magnesium supplementation markedly

OPTIMAL ANALYSIS OF THE SHOULDER END STRUCTURE OF SPRING CLIP-Ⅲ FASTENINGS IN METRO LINES

open access: yesJixie qiangdu, 2016
Based on the nonlinear contact theory,a finite element model of spring clip-III fastening system used in metro lines is established. The relation between fastening’s clamping force and vertical displacement of its finger is obtained.

Mining methods of steep end-slope under the influence of internal dump boundaries

open access: yes矿业科学学报
: In open-pit mining, technological and safety requirements often result in relatively shallow slopes at the end walls, leaving substantial coal resourcesburied and unutilized. The partitioned mining with internal dumping, however, shortens the exposure ...

Feasibility and Tolerability of Performing Portable MRI for Neurological Disorders in an Outpatient Neurology Clinic: A Prospective Cohort

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Accessing brain magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) can be challenging, especially for underserved patients, which may lead to disparities in neurological diagnosis. Method This mixed‐methods study enrolled adults with one of four neurological disorders: mild cognitive impairment or dementia of the Alzheimer type, multiple sclerosis ...

Epilepsy‐Associated Variants of a Single SCN1A Codon Exhibit Divergent Functional Properties

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Pathogenic variants in SCN1A, which encodes the voltage‐gated sodium channel NaV1.1, are associated with multiple epilepsy syndromes exhibiting a range of clinical severity. SCN1A variants are reported in different syndromes, including Dravet syndrome, which is associated with loss‐of‐function, whereas neonatal/infantile‐onset ...

LETTER TO THE EDITOR Mean end-to-end distance of branched polymers

open access: yes, 1979
. We use Monte Carlo methods to calculate the mean end-to-end distance of randomly branched polymer molecules. Molecular realisations are brown on the square and simple cubic lattices, and consist of N bifunctional monomers and N, polyfunctional ...
