End to end distance on contour loops of random gaussian surfaces [PDF]

open access: yesPhysical Review Letters, 2000
A self consistent field theory that describes a part of a contour loop of a random Gaussian surface as a trajectory interacting with itself is constructed. The exponent \nu characterizing the end to end distance is obtained by a Flory argument.

End-to-end distance and contour length distribution functions of DNA helices [PDF]

open access: yesThe Journal of Chemical Physics, 2018
We present a computational method to evaluate the end-to-end and the contour length distribution functions of short DNA molecules described by a mesoscopic Hamiltonian. The method generates a large statistical ensemble of possible configurations for each

Is End-to-End Distance a Good Reaction Coordinate? [PDF]

open access: yesBiophysical Journal, 2009
Single-molecule force spectroscopy opens a new door for investigating detailed biomolecular interactions and their thermodynamic properties by pulling molecules apart while monitoring the force exerted on them. Recent advances in the nonequilibrium work theorem allows one to determine the free energy landscapes of these processes.

End-to-End Distance Computation in Grid Environment by NDS, the Network Distance Service [PDF]

open access: yesFourth European Conference on Universal Multiservice Networks (ECUMN'07), 2007
This article presents a novel method for computing distances between hosts in a computational grid. Our method allows to represent the cost to achieve any operation involving some services in a grid environment. We demonstrate why the current monitoring tools are not sufficient in grid environments that lack high level tools to combine several sources ...

Scaling Exponents and Probability Distributions of DNA End-to-End Distance [PDF]

open access: yesPhysical Review Letters, 2005
Correlation length exponent $ν$ for long linear DNA molecules was determined by direct measurement of the average end-to-end distance as a function of the contour length $s$ by means of atomic force microscopy (AFM). Linear DNA, up to 48'502 base pairs (bp), was irreversibly deposited from a solution onto silanized mica and imaged in air.

Learning Optimal Multicolor PSF Design for 3D Pairwise Distance Estimation

open access: yesIntelligent Computing, 2022
Measuring the 3-dimensional (3D) distance between 2 spots is a common task in microscopy, because it holds information on the degree of colocalization in a variety of biological systems.

End-to-end distance vector distribution with fixed end orientations for the wormlike chain model [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
We find exact expressions for the end-to-end distance vector distribution function with fixed end orientations for the wormlike chain model. This function in Fourier-Laplace space adopts the form of infinite continued fractions, which emerges upon ...

Design and Experimentation of a Residual-Input Tube-End Cutting System for Plasma Bags Based on Machine Vision

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2023
In response to the lack of plasma bag-breaking equipment and time-consuming manual recovery of plasma in China, this study focuses on the distal end cutting of a plasma bag residual-input tube and designs a machine-vision-based plasma bag residual-input ...

Influence Factors’ Analysis of the Face-End Roof Leaks Exposed to Repeated Mining Based on Multiple Linear Regression

open access: yesAdvances in Materials Science and Engineering, 2021
In view of the fact that the face-end roof fall under repeated mining of close-distance coal seams seriously affects the normal production of the working face, this paper takes working face 17101 as the background, different influencing factors of face ...

Self-Organizing and Scalable Routing Protocol (SOSRP) for Underwater Acoustic Sensor Networks

open access: yesSensors, 2019
Underwater Acoustic Sensor Networks (UASN) have two important limitations: a very aggressive (marine) environment, and the use of acoustic signals. This means that the techniques for terrestrial wireless sensor networks (WSN) are not applicable.
