In this explorative study, the abundance of circular RNA molecules in bone marrow stem cells was found to be elevated in patients with high‐risk myelodysplastic neoplasms, and to be associated with an increased risk of progression to acute myeloid leukemia.

Subtype‐specific enhancer RNAs define transcriptional regulators and prognosis in breast cancers
This study employed machine learning methodologies to perform the subtype‐specific classification of RNA‐seq data sets, which are mapped on enhancers from TCGA‐derived breast cancer patients. Their integration with gene expression (referred to as ProxCReAM eRNAs) and chromatin accessibility profiles has the potential to identify lineage‐specific and ...

Cubic Spline Curve Fitting with Controlled End Conditions
Another method for cubic spline curve fitting. It is a more flexible version of a proven technique by using a set of end conditions suggested by Nutbourne.

Fatigue Analyses of a Flexible Riser Considering End Fitting Effects
During the end fitting (EF) mounting process, the tensile armor wires of flexible pipes are folded and then unfolded. This process usually leaves plastic deformations and generates sharp curvatures on these wires just at the EF entrance.

COMP–PMEPA1 axis promotes epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition in breast cancer cells
This study reveals that cartilage oligomeric matrix protein (COMP) promotes epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition (EMT) in breast cancer. We identify PMEPA1 (protein TMEPAI) as a novel COMP‐binding partner that mediates EMT via binding to the TSP domains of COMP, establishing the COMP–PMEPA1 axis as a key EMT driver in breast cancer.

Glioma cells mainly express the endothelin receptor EDNRB, while EDNRA is restricted to a perivascular tumor subpopulation. Endothelin signaling reduces glioma cell proliferation while promoting migration and a proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition associated with poor prognosis. This pathway activates Ca2+, K+, ERK, and STAT3 signalings and is regulated

Fitting multiple heterogeneous models by multi-class cascaded t-linkage [PDF]
This paper addresses the problem of multiple models fitting in the general context where the sought structures can be described by a mixture of heterogeneous parametric models drawn from different classes. To this end, we conceive a multi-model selection
