Abstract It has been shown that the intraseasonal variability in the eastern Pacific Ocean at the intermediate depth (∼1,000 m) has a large amplitude along the equator. However, our understanding of the origin and detailed characteristics of the Equatorial Deep Intra‐seasonal Variability (DEIV) is still limited. In this study, we use observed data near

Regularity and separation for Grušin‐type p‐Laplace operators
Abstract We analyze p‐Laplace type operators with degenerate elliptic coefficients. This investigation includes Grušin‐type p‐Laplace operators. We describe a separation phenomenon in elliptic and parabolic p‐Laplace type equations, which provide an illuminating illustration of simple jump discontinuities of the corresponding weak solutions ...

Strategic Reneging and Market Power in Sequential Markets
ABSTRACT This article investigates the incentives for firms with market power to manipulate markets by strategically reneging on forward commitments. We first study the behavior of a dominant firm in a two‐period model with demand uncertainty. We then use the model's predictions and a machine learning approach to investigate multiple occurrences of ...

Willmore‐type inequality in unbounded convex sets
Abstract In this paper, we prove the following Willmore‐type inequality: on an unbounded closed convex set K⊂Rn+1$K\subset \mathbb {R}^{n+1}$ (n⩾2$(n\geqslant 2$), for any embedded hypersurface Σ⊂K${\Sigma }\subset K$ with boundary ∂Σ⊂∂K$\partial {\Sigma }\subset \partial K$ satisfying a certain contact angle condition, there holds 1n+1∫ΣHndA⩾AVR(K)|Bn+

A Systematic Mapping Study of the Metrics, Uses and Subjects of Diversity‐Based Testing Techniques
This paper is a systematic mapping study of diversity‐based testing (DBT) techniques that summarizes the key aspects and trends of 167 papers. The study reports the use of 79 similarity metrics with 22 types of software artefacts, which researchers have used to tackle 11 types of software testing problems.
