A hydrographic transient above the Salty Dawg hydrothermal field, Endeavour segment, Juan de Fuca Ridge [PDF]

open access: yesGeochemistry, Geophysics, Geosystems, 2010
During systematic repeat hydrography cruises to the Endeavour segment of the Juan de Fuca Ridge in the summers of 2004, 2005, and 2006, we encountered a transient increase in the water column heat content above the Salty Dawg hydrothermal field. First observed in July 2005 and mapped in greater detail in August 2005, this feature was not a typical ...

Sustained Therapeutic Efficacy of Intravenous Plasminogen Concentrate in Pediatric Patients With Type 1 Plasminogen Deficiency: An Analysis of Dosing Parameters and Clinical Outcomes

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Type 1 plasminogen deficiency (PLGD‐1) is an ultra‐rare autosomal recessive disorder caused by variants in the PLG gene and affects approximately 1.6 individuals per million. The condition is characterized by decreased plasminogen levels and impaired function, resulting in fibrin‐rich lesions on mucous membranes throughout the body.

Estimating Zooplankton Biomass Distribution in the Water Column Near the Endeavour Segment of Juan de Fuca Ridge Using Acoustic Backscatter and Concurrently Towed Nets [PDF]

open access: yesOceanography, 2012
Logistical challenges, time, and the cost of towed net surveys make it difficult to obtain estimates of secondary biomass and production in the open ocean outside the summer sampling season. Alternate approaches are sometimes needed.

Guidelines for Pediatric Radiotherapy Simulation: A Report From the Children's Oncology Group Radiation Oncology Discipline

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Pediatric radiation therapy presents unique challenges compared to adult treatments, including those of immobilization, potential need for sedation, and the critical importance of accurate, reproducible positioning. Additionally, heightened attention to imaging doses is necessary to minimize long‐term toxicity in survivors.

BMT4me En Español: Multisite Feasibility and Usability Testing of a Spanish‐Language mHealth Adherence Support App for Spanish‐Speaking Caregivers of Children After Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplantation and Cancer Treatment

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Medication nonadherence during the first 100 days after pediatric hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT) and during oncology treatment increases risk for complications. BMT4me is a caregiver‐facing mobile health (mHealth) application providing medication reminders, symptom tracking, and note‐taking features to support ...

Solid Pseudopapillary Neoplasm of the Pancreas in Children and Adolescents: Expert Recommendations

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Solid pseudopapillary neoplasm of the pancreas (SPN) is a rare low‐grade malignant exocrine pancreatic tumor, mostly discovered during the second decade of life in females, with a very good prognosis, provided microscopically complete surgical excision is achieved.

Geochemistry of REE and yttrium in hydrothermal fluids from the Endeavour segment, Juan de Fuca Ridge

open access: yesGEOCHEMICAL JOURNAL, 2008
Rare earth element and yttrium in hydrothermal fluids sampled from six high temperature vents and two diffuse flow sites on the Endeavour segment, Juan de Fuca Ridge by US-CHINA Joint Deep Dive Cruise in Aug. 2005 were analyzed by ICP-MS after being pre-concentrated by 20-fold.

Impact of Metastatic Patterns on Survival and Response to Therapy in Neuroblastoma

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background While the presence of metastases in neuroblastoma (NB) is a well‐established prognostic factor, the clinical significance of dissemination patterns and tumour burden and their impact on response and survival remains poorly understood.
