The Esthetic Management of Molar Incisor Hypomineralization: Succeeding the Challenge

open access: yesCase Reports in Dentistry, Volume 2025, Issue 1, 2025.
Molar incisor hypomineralization (MIH) is a developmental defect of tooth enamel that affects the quality of the enamel. It is estimated that MIH affects between 13.1% and 14.2% of the world′s population. However, in some countries, such as Tunisia (North Africa), there is a dearth of information regarding the prevalence of MIH.

Attenuating Potential of Ginger (Zingiber officinale) Against Fluoride and Dimethoate‐Induced Oxidative Stress–Associated Hepatotoxicity in Wistar Rats

open access: yesJournal of Food Biochemistry, Volume 2025, Issue 1, 2025.
The chronic intake of fluoride (F)‐contaminated groundwater, clinically manifested as fluorosis, is a significant disease burden worldwide. Similarly, dimethoate (DM), a broad‐spectrum organophosphorus insecticide, is one of the most indiscriminately used insecticides in many parts of the world, posing health risks to exposed humans and animals. In the

Emodin Suppresses Fluoride‐Induced Pyroptosis in SH‐SY5Y Cells Through the Inhibition of NLRP3 Inflammasome Activation

open access: yesJournal of Food Biochemistry, Volume 2025, Issue 1, 2025.
Our preliminary investigation has unveiled that emodin may inhibit the neurotoxic effects of sodium fluoride (NaF) on SH‐SY5Y cells by deactivating ERK and activating the Nrf2/HO‐1 signaling pathway. This action thereby restores synaptic damage and reduces excessive reactive oxygen species (ROS) generation.

Environmental Contaminants, Iron Deficiency, and Iron‐Deficiency Anemia: A Review of the Literature

open access: yesScientifica, Volume 2025, Issue 1, 2025.
Iron deficiency (ID) and ID anemia (IDA) are global health concerns that tend to affect vulnerable populations, including women, children, and those living in areas disproportionately affected by environmental health hazards. A review of the literature was conducted using the top ten chemicals of public health concern as identified by the World Health ...

Geochemical and Isotopic Composition of Natural Waters in the Central Main Ethiopian Rift: emphasis on the study of source and genesis of fluoride [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
In the Main Ethiopian Rift (MER), the supply of drinking water principally relies on groundwater wells, springs (including some hot springs), and rivers, and is characterized by a significant problem of fluoride (F¯) contamination.
