A Rare Case of Necrotising Sarcoid Granulomatosis Presenting as Bilateral Pulmonary Masses Mimicking Malignancy

open access: yesRespirology Case Reports, Volume 14, Issue 1, January 2026.
A 50‐year‐old man presented with bilateral pulmonary masses mimicking metastatic malignancy. Histology confirmed necrotising sarcoid granulomatosis, and corticosteroid therapy led to complete radiological resolution. This case highlights the diagnostic challenge of NSG and the importance of multidisciplinary evaluation.

Linear EBUS-guided fiducial marker placement to guide radiotherapy for endobronchial, radiographically occult synchronous primary squamous cell carcinoma of the lung

open access: yesRespiratory Medicine Case Reports, 2017
Radiation therapy has emerged as a useful alternative therapy for patients with early-stage, non-resectable lung cancer. In patients whose malignancies are difficult to localize on computed tomography imaging, such therapy becomes difficult.

Endobronchial lesion and pericardial extension of pediatric hodgkin lymphoma: A rare concomitant presentation

open access: yesIndian Journal of Medical and Paediatric Oncology, 2020
Concomitant endobronchial lesion and pericardial effusion/extension in Hodgkin lymphoma (HL) are extremely rare and can be clinically confused with disseminated tuberculosis or aggressive non-HL changing both management and prognosis.

A Case of Bronchial Dieulafoy's Disease Presenting as an Endobronchial Polypoid Lesion That Regressed After Bronchial Artery Embolisation

open access: yesRespirology Case Reports, Volume 14, Issue 1, January 2026.
Bronchial Dieulafoy's disease is extremely rare and characterised by a large‐calibre, submucosal artery lying just beneath the mucosa, predisposing to abrupt haemorrhage despite minimal or no mucosal defect. This case highlights the visual confirmation of lesion regression by bronchoscopy after bronchial artery embolisation.

Endobronchial ultrasound in therapeutic bronchoscopy [PDF]

open access: yesEuropean Respiratory Journal, 2002
Endobronchial ultrasound (EBUS) has been introduced as an adjunct to diagnostic bronchoscopy as it allows evaluation of the submucosal and parabronchial structures. Its use in therapeutic bronchoscopy has not been assessed. A large observational study of the value of EBUS in therapeutic bronchoscopy is presented here. From January 1998–January 2001 all ...

Successful Chemotherapy Induction Following Management of Obstructive Jaundice and Femoral Pathological Fracture in Extensive‐Stage Small Cell Lung Cancer: A Case Report

open access: yesRespirology Case Reports, Volume 14, Issue 1, January 2026.
A 76‐year‐old man with extensive‐stage SCLC presented with obstructive jaundice from pancreatic metastasis and a pathological femoral fracture. Multidisciplinary management, including biliary stenting and hemiarthroplasty, improved his performance status, enabling systemic chemotherapy.

Diagnosis of invasive aspergillus tracheobronchitis facilitated by endobronchial ultrasound-guided transbronchial needle aspiration: a case report

open access: yesJournal of Medical Case Reports, 2009
Introduction Invasive pulmonary aspergillosis is the most common form of infection by Aspergillus species among immunocompromised patients. Although this infection frequently involves the lung parenchyma, it is unusual to find it limited to the ...

A Case of IgG4‐Related Disease That Mimics an Anterior Mediastinal Malignant Tumour

open access: yesRespirology Case Reports, Volume 14, Issue 1, January 2026.
We describe a rare case of IgG4‐related disease presenting as an anterior mediastinal mass mimicking malignancy. This case demonstrates the importance of considering IgG4‐related disease in the differential diagnosis of mediastinal tumours, even when FDG‐PET shows abnormal accumulation and serum IgG4 levels are not particularly high.

Radiotherapy Response Patterns in Thoracic NUT Carcinoma: A Case Report

open access: yesRespirology Case Reports, Volume 14, Issue 1, January 2026.
We report a young woman with thoracic NUT carcinoma who experienced differential clinical responses to palliative radiotherapy across metastatic sites during the same clinical course. Rather than establishing intrinsic differences in radiosensitivity, this case illustrates real‐world clinical challenges in the management of advanced thoracic NUT ...
