In this paper, we argue that the normative concept of modernity as self-referentiality, self-subsistence, autonomy, endogeny and independence of reason is based on the correlation of anthropology and science in a double, however correlated, point: on the

Fixed points of the smoothing transform: Two-sided solutions
Given a sequence $(C,T) = (C,T_1,T_2,...)$ of real-valued random variables with $T_j \geq 0$ for all $j \geq 1$ and almost surely finite $N = \sup\{j \geq 1: T_j > 0\}$, the smoothing transform associated with $(C,T)$, defined on the set $\mathcal{P}(\R)$

Mineralization at Different Structural Levels in the Crust
Abstract Metallogenic research on structural levels can reveal vertical patterns of mineralization and facilitate the deep exploration of economic minerals. However, research focusing on the correlation between structural levels and mineralization remains limited.

Drivers of glacially induced fault reactivation in the Baltic Sea sector of the Tornquist Fan
We analyse the effect of Quaternary glaciations on the complex tectonic pattern of the Baltic Sea sector of the Tornquist Fan. Using 2D marine reflection seismic data we determine the strike and dip angles of more than 40 potential glacially reactivated faults and calculated the Coulomb failure stress changes (ΔCFS) over the past 200 000 years.

ABSTRACT It has become increasingly recognised that MATN1‐AS1 is involved in multiple tumour development. The role of MATN1‐AS1 in clear cell renal cell carcinoma (ccRCC), however, is still largely unrecognised. This study investigated the molecular functions of MATN1‐AS1 in promoting ccRCC metastasis and sunitinib resistance. MATN1‐AS1 was found to be

Assessment of the oxygen dynamics in microalgae–bacteria systems through respirometry
Abstract BACKGROUND A microalgae–bacteria consortium applied to the treatment of domestic wastewater can be an alternative to reduce the energy consumption of aerobic systems if the algal biomass produces enough oxygen for bacterial consumption.

Histopathologic observations in a coccidiosis model of Eimeria tenella
This study used necropsy, pathological tissue sections, and other techniques to evaluate the gross and microscopic lesions of cecal tissue in multiple periods within 15 days after incubation of sporulated oocysts. A model of necrotizing enteritis in chicken was developed by sporulated Eimeria tenella oocyst (5 × 103) infection.

From fairy rings to fairy chemicals: The story from nature phenomenon to commercial application
Fairy rings occur naturally in humid forests and grasslands. Effective compounds extracted from Lepista sordida have been termed as Fairy Chemicals. These chemicals regulate plant growth during abiotic stress and are also biosynthesised in plants, indicating their cellular regulatory effects and significant potential in medicine, cosmetics, and ...

Restoring the growth potential of formerly centrally planned economies [PDF]
All formerly centrally planned economies record very substantial declines in their social products. The largest drops in production are recorded in Poland and in east Germany (the former GDR), that is, in those countries where the most radical steps ...

Spatial Effects and Verdoorn Law in the Portuguese Context [PDF]
The consideration of spatial effects at a regional level is becoming increasingly frequent and the work of Anselin (1988), among others, has contributed to this.
