Endometrial stromal sarcoma diagnosed after hysteroscopic endometrial resection

Endometrial ablation and resection is now common therapy for dysfunctional uterine bleeding that is unresponsive to conservative management. Opponents argue that it may predispose patients to potentially hazardous malignancies of the uterus. In our patient, endometrial resection was performed to treat menorrhagia after a negative workup.

The diagnosis rate of deep pelvic endometriosis is increasing. Endometrial stromal sarcoma (ESS) is a rare neoplasm. Extragenital ESS is an extremely uncommon event. Very few cases of extragenital ESS have been reported to date. The diagnosis of this entity is very difficult in some instances. Knowledge about its management is also limited.

Intermediate filament composition was studied in the following endometrial stromal tumors: low-grade stromal sarcoma (endolymphatic stromal myosis), high-grade stromal sarcoma with an associated adenocarcinoma (collision tumor), diffuse clear cell stromal sarcoma and a mesodermal mixed tumor (carcinosarcoma).

Endometrial Stromal Sarcoma.: Case report Uterine sarcomas are rarely seen tumors in population and usually have a poor prognosis. In our study we pre-sented 27 years old patient who had an operation due to abnormal uterine bleeding and myoma uteri. The pathological result was endometrial stromal sarcoma after the myomectomy.
