Electrogram‐guided endomyocardial biopsy yield in patients with suspected cardiac sarcoidosis and relation to outcomes

Cardiovascular Electrophysiology, 2021
Endomyocardial biopsy (EMB) is a useful diagnostic tool though the yield may be limited in many myocardial diseases. Data on the diagnostic yield and prognostic significance of EMB guided by abnormal electrograms (EGM‐Bx) in suspected cardiac sarcoidosis

Endomyocardial Biopsy

Chest, 1983
Endomyocardial samples from the right ventricle of 100 patients were taken by a Stanford University technique but only 93 of them were good for histology. Samples came from cardiomyopathy (29 patients) and other clinical diagnoses (64 patients). Cardiomyopathy could be proved (3,4%) or conceded (58,6% by histology.

Endomyocardial biopsy

2014
Abstract Right ventricular endomyocardial biopsies are common practice following cardiac transplantation to identify the evidence of allograft rejection. There are few occasions when an endomyocardial biopsy is necessary in patients with chronic heart failure.

Endomyocardial Biopsy

2012
Abstract Endomyocardial biopsy is indicated in selected patients with suspected myocardial disease in which the diagnostic, prognostic, and therapeutic information likely to be obtained outweighs the patient risks associated with the procedure.

Myocarditis and Endomyocardial Biopsy

Cardiology Clinics, 1984
There is little correlation between the clinical and the biopsy tissue diagnoses of myocarditis, and both are prone to false-positive and false-negative interpretations. Perhaps the most common error that leads to a false-positive clinical diagnosis of myocarditis is the preconceived but unproved notion that unexplained heart failure of sudden onset or
