The nature of microbiomes and endophytic plant growth-promoting bacteria is elaborated. For a start, the plant rhizosphere (bacteria around the roots) and the plant endosphere (bacteria inside of the plant) are colonized by different subsets of the bacteria that are found in the bulk soil.
