ABSTRACT Isolated iliac artery aneurysms (IAA) are a rare form of aortic disease associated with an increased risk of rupture. In case of extensive retroperitoneal hematomas, two‐stage surgical removal must always be considered. A combined approach involving endovascular and open surgery is often the best treatment strategy.
