Endoscopic carpal tunnel release: practice in evolution

Scandinavian Journal of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and Hand Surgery, 2003
This study reports on 565 consecutive endoscopic carpal tunnel releases using the Agee one-portal technique of which 25 (4.4%) were converted to the open technique. The follow-up period was from 4 to 52 months. Immediate symptomatic relief was reported in 562 wrists (99.5%).

Endoscopic Carpal Tunnel Release

2007
It was probably inevitable that the trend toward endoscopically guided and similar methods utilizing smaller skin incisions, and offering the opportunity for faster healing times, would include decompression of the median nerve for carpal tunnel syndrome (CTS)that is unresponsive to conservative care. The interest in endoscopic methods for carpal tunnel ...

Ulnarly deviated motor branch of the median nerve: prevalence during supraretinacular endoscopic carpal tunnel release.

Journal of Hand Surgery (European Volume)
A review of 2248 supraretinacular endoscopic carpal tunnel release cases demonstrated an ulnarly deviated median nerve motor branch within aberrant muscles in 1.07% of cases.

Endoscopic Carpal Tunnel release: Preliminary report

Arthroscopy: The Journal of Arthroscopic & Related Surgery, 1994
The surgical technique of endoscopic carpal tunnel release using the Concept Carpal Tunnel Relief Kit (Linvatec, Largo, FL) is described. This is a single-portal technique and can be performed with any standard (4-mm) arthroscope available in the operating room. The results of the first 100 cases treated by the author are reported.

Endoscopic Carpal Tunnel Release

AORN Journal, 1993
Endoscopic carpal tunnel decompression is a new and effective way of relieving CTS. It shortens the recovery period and the length of time required to resume normal postoperative activity. The majority of our patients have experienced relief of symptoms and, in instances where the opposite hand was affected by CTS, have returned for that hand to be ...

Endoscopic carpal tunnel release: A cadaveric study

Arthroscopy: The Journal of Arthroscopic & Related Surgery, 1993
Endoscopic carpal tunnel release was performed on 13 fresh-frozen cadavers using the Agee 3-M "Inside Job" Endoscopic Carpal Tunnel Release System, by a surgeon specifically trained in the technique and with a large clinical experience. Independent dissections showed no inadvertent lacerations to nerves, vessels, or tendons. The superficial palmar arch,

Single-Portal Endoscopic Carpal Tunnel Release: Agee Carpal Tunnel Release System

Annals of Plastic Surgery, 1996
This single-group prospective cohort study was conducted to define the efficacy and safety of single-portal endoscopic carpal tunnel release using the redesigned carpal tunnel release system (3M Healthcare, St Paul, MN). Eighty-six procedures in 69 patients were evaluated by objective motor/sensory testing and clinical outcome questionnaire at 10 days,

Endoscopic carpal tunnel release: An atomic study

Arthroscopy: The Journal of Arthroscopic & Related Surgery, 1993
Endoscopic carpal tunnel release has been shown to decrease postoperative recovery time in patients undergoing surgery for carpal tunnel syndrome. There is, however, some controversy concerning the safety and reliability of the procedure. We performed endoscopic carpal tunnel release utilizing the two portal technique described by Chow on 20 fresh ...

Complications of Endoscopic and Open Carpal Tunnel Release

Arthroscopy: The Journal of Arthroscopic & Related Surgery, 2006
To compile the major complications of carpal tunnel surgery and compare reported complications for open and endoscopic techniques.A literature assessment was performed for published complications of open and endoscopic carpal tunnel release procedures; 80 publications, representing a period from 1966 through 2001, were reviewed.
