Endoscopic hemostasis for nonvariceal upper gastrointestinal bleeding [PDF]
Nonvariceal upper gastrointestinal bleeding (NVUGIB) is one of the most common and important gastrointestinal conditions encountered in daily practice. The main cause of NVUGIB is bleeding gastroduodenal ulcers.

Where next with endoscopic ulcer hemostasis?
Severe upper GI (UGI) bleeding is a relatively frequent reason for hospital admission in adult patients (1). In most major medical centers, peptic ulcers are still the most common etiology for UGI hemorrhage (2, 3). However, in North America and some European countries, ulcers are becoming less prevalent as the cause of UGI hemorrhage than varices ...

Evolving techniques for gastrointestinal endoscopic hemostasis treatment [PDF]
With mortality due to gastrointestinal (GI) bleeding remaining stable, the focus on endoscopic hemostasis has been on improving other outcomes such as rebleeding rate, need for transfusions, and need for angiographic embolization or surgery. Over the past few years, a number of devices have emerged to help endoscopically assess and treat bleeding GI ...

Safety and Efficacy of the Noncessation Method of Antithrombotic Agents after Emergency Endoscopic Hemostasis in Patients with Nonvariceal Upper Gastrointestinal Bleeding: A Multicenter Pilot Study [PDF]
Background and Aims. The present study aimed to clarify the safety and efficacy of the noncessation method of antithrombotic agents after emergency endoscopic hemostasis in patients with nonvariceal upper gastrointestinal bleeding (UGIB). Methods.

New Endoscopic Technologies and Procedural Advances for Endoscopic Hemostasis [PDF]
Endoscopic interventions are first-line therapy for upper and lower gastrointestinal bleeding. Injection therapy in combination with a second endoscopic modality has reduced re-bleeding, need for surgery and mortality in non-variceal bleeding. For variceal bleeding endoscopic banding or cyanoacrylate injection techniques are recommended interventions ...

Severe Gastroduodenitis Associated With Ulcerative Colitis After Total Colectomy Successfully Treated With Endoscopic Hemostasis and Oral Tacrolimus. [PDF]
ABSTRACT Herein, we report a rare case of gastroduodenitis associated with ulcerative colitis (UC). A 42‐year‐old man was diagnosed with UC 1 year prior to admission to our hospital. The patient underwent a 3‐stage total colectomy and ileal pouch‐anal anastomosis for severe UC.

Risk factors determining the need for second-look endoscopy for peptic ulcer bleeding after endoscopic hemostasis and proton pump inhibitor infusion [PDF]
Background and study aims: The need for routine second-look endoscopy in cases of peptic ulcer bleeding remains uncertain. We investigated risk factors related to the need for second-look endoscopy after endoscopic hemostasis and proton pump inhibitor ...

Endoscopic hemostasis for hemorrhage from an ileal diverticulum
Hemorrhage from a non-Meckelian jejunoileal diverticulum is rare, and it is generally difficult to diagnose the source of the bleeding. Here, we report the case of a 59-year-old male with hemorrhage from an ileal diverticulum. Contrast computed tomography scans demonstrated the ileal diverticulum and extravasation of the contrast medium around it.

Noninvasive endoscopic hemostasis technique for post‐papillectomy bleeding using a novel self‐assembling peptide (with video) [PDF]
Although a novel hemostatic agent has been used for endoscopic mucosal resection in submucosal dissection, there are few case reports of its use in pancreato‐biliary endoscopic procedures.
