Prevalence of Asymptomatic Premalignant Oesophageal Lesions in Patients With Fanconi Anaemia

open access: yesAlimentary Pharmacology &Therapeutics, EarlyView.
Clinically relevant endoscopic findings in asymptomatic Fanconi Anemia patients. ABSTRACT Fanconi anaemia (FA), a rare genetic disorder of DNA repair, predisposes to squamous cell carcinomas of head, neck and oesophagus. Epigenetically‐Upregulated CD98 Shed Light on the Precancerous Diagnosis and Prognosis Prediction of Esophageal Cancer

open access: yesCancer Science, EarlyView.
This study confirmed that hypomethylation‐induced upregulation of CD98 promoted ESCC cell proliferation by regulating the cell cycle and was correlated with poorer overall survival of ESCC patients. Combined panels of immunohistochemistry (CD98 and P53) are recommended for accurate diagnosis of esophageal precancerous lesions.
