Endoscopic total thyroidectomy.
Endoscopic neck surgery for the thyroid and parathyroid is being tested as an alternative to open thyroidectomy. The aim of this study was to determine the safety and feasibility of endoscopic transaxillary total thyroidectomy (ETTT).Twenty-two consecutive patients from January 2006 to September 2008 underwent ETTT.

ABSTRACT Background Airway obstruction secondary to chyle leak is an exceptionally rare phenomenon. Here, we describe this complication in a patient with anaplastic thyroid carcinoma (ATC) undergoing consolidative surgery after BRAF‐targeted therapy. Methods A 55‐year‐old man presented with a rapidly enlarging neck mass.

Videoscopic Thyroidectomy: The Uncertain Path to Practicality
Since 1997, successful attempts at endoscopic thyroidectomy have led to controversies. The procedure has, as yet, no alarming operative complication, but its benefits to patients are debatable.

Factors Increasing the Likelihood of Postoperative Hematomas Following Thyroid Surgery
ABSTRACT Background Neck hematoma following thyroid surgery is a potentially life‐threatening complication. Methods This retrospective case–control study reviewed neck hematoma reoperations following thyroid surgery (2009–2024), using 3:1 matching. Univariable analysis identified hematoma and delayed onset (≥ 6 h) risk factors, with odds ratios (ORs ...

Bitter Taste Receptor Agonists Induce Apoptosis in Papillary Thyroid Cancer
ABSTRACT Background Papillary thyroid carcinoma (PTC) is the most common thyroid malignancy, with a 20% recurrence rate. Bitter taste receptors (T2Rs) and their genes (TAS2Rs) may regulate survival in solid tumors. This study examined T2R expression and function in PTC cells.

A Three-limb Teleoperated Robotic System with Foot Control for Flexible Endoscopic Surgery [PDF]
Flexible endoscopy requires high skills to manipulate both the endoscope and associated instruments. In most robotic flexible endoscopic systems, the endoscope and instruments are controlled separately by two operators, which may result in communication errors and inefficient operation.

Total Endoscopic Thyroidectomy with Intraoperative Laryngeal Nerve Monitoring
Objective. To evaluate the clinical efficacy of laryngeal nerve (LN) monitoring (LNM) during total endoscopic thyroidectomy via breast approach, with emphasis on the identification rates for RLN and EBSLN and the incidence of RLN paralysis. Materials and
