Endosonography of the Esophagus
Gastrointestinal Endoscopy Clinics of North America, 1994Endoscopic ultrasonography has emerged as a new method for obtaining highly detailed images of the esophagus. This novel imaging modality is useful in determining the etiology of submucosal esophageal lesions, has detected anatomic abnormalities in certain motility disorders, and has been used to study patients with portal hypertension.

Endosonography of Groove Pancreatitis
Endoscopy, 1991Groove pancreatitis is a rare form of chronic pancreatitis. Distinction between pancreatitis and pancreatic carcinoma is often difficult. Two cases of groove pancreatitis diagnosed by endosonography are described. A hypoechoic pattern between the duodenal wall and pancreas was clearly imaged in both patients.

Rectal compliance determined by rectal endosonography [PDF]
The aim of this study was to develop a method for determination of rectal compliance that allows direct measurement of corresponding changes in the rectal cross-sectional area or perimeter and rectal pressure. We developed an anal probe for transrectal endosonography.

Paediatric anal endosonography
Pediatric Surgery International, 2003This study was performed to determine the endosonographic features of the anal canal in normal children and to compare these findings with the endosonographic features in children with congenital anorectal malformations. Two groups of children were examined by anal endosonography (AES): group 1 ( n=30) were controls, and group 2 ( n=15) were children ...

Endosonography of the Mediastinum
2015Endosonography is a highly effective method of evaluating patients with lung cancer, malignant lymphadenopathy, and other mediastinal conditions such as cysts and masses. Due to the central location of the esophagus within the chest, transesophageal EUS offers reliable access to the posterior and inferior mediastinum.

Endosonography ??? Is It Sound for the Masses?
Journal of Clinical Gastroenterology, 1994Endoscopic ultrasound (EUS), a relatively new addition to the endoscopist's diagnostic armamentarium, provides detailed images of the gut wall layers and surrounding organs. Endosonography is highly accurate in the staging of gastrointestinal neoplasms and may provide information that is invaluable in treatment planning, such as evidence of ...
