Pancreatic Endosonography: Clinical TNM Staging Compared to Histology

open access: yesCanadian Journal of Gastroenterology, 1990
Endosonography has been reported to be effective in the staging of gastrointestinal carcinoma. Pancreatic carcinoma is included in the new (1987) TNM classification. Resectability is abandoned in favour of depth of tumour invasion.

Superinfected Cystic Omental Lymphangioma: A Rare Cause of Acute Abdomen in Children

open access: yesClinical Case Reports, Volume 13, Issue 6, June 2025.
ABSTRACT Cystic lymphangioma is a benign yet rare vascular anomaly with an estimated incidence rate of 1 in every 20,000–250,000 individuals. They often tend to be asymptomatic. Lymphangiomas are usually diagnosed in children under 2 years of age and typically present as a lateral neck or axillary mass.

Comparison of fully versus partially covered metal stents in endoscopic ultrasound‐guided hepaticogastrostomy for malignant biliary obstruction (with video)

open access: yesDigestive Endoscopy, Volume 37, Issue 5, Page 532-540, May 2025.
Background Endoscopic ultrasound‐guided hepaticogastrostomy (EUS‐HGS) using a fully covered metal stent (FCMS) or partially covered metal stent (PCMS) is performed to manage unresectable malignant biliary obstruction (MBO) following unsuccessful endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography.

Role of Endoscopy in Clinical Management of Intraductal Papillary Mucinous Neoplasms

open access: yesJournal of Gastroenterology and Hepatology, Volume 40, Issue 5, Page 1045-1058, May 2025.
ABSTRACT Intraductal papillary mucinous neoplasm (IPMN) of the pancreas is a well‐recognized precursor of pancreatic carcinoma. Along with cross‐sectional abdominal imaging tests, endoscopic examinations remain the cornerstone in the diagnosis of pancreatic cysts, early detection of IPMN‐derived carcinomas, and risk stratification of patients with ...

Endoscopic ultrasound‐guided choledochoduodenostomy versus hepaticogastrostomy combined with gastroenterostomy in malignant double obstruction (CABRIOLET_Pro): A prospective comparative study

open access: yesDEN Open, Volume 5, Issue 1, April 2025.
Abstract Objectives Malignant double obstruction, defined as the simultaneous presence of biliary and gastric outlet obstruction, represents a challenging clinical scenario. Previous retrospective experiences have demonstrated shorter dysfunction‐free survival (DyFS) of endoscopic ultrasound‐guided choledochoduodenostomy (EUS‐CDS) versus EUS ...

Efficacy and safety of endoscopic ultrasonography‐guided radiofrequency ablation of small pancreatic neuroendocrine neoplasms: A prospective, pilot study

open access: yesDEN Open, Volume 5, Issue 1, April 2025.
Abstract Objectives Endoscopic ultrasonography (EUS)‐guided radiofrequency ablation has recently been introduced as one of the management strategies for small pancreatic neuroendocrine neoplasms (PNENs). However, prospective data on its safety and efficacy remain limited. Methods This prospective pilot study was conducted at Okayama University Hospital

Endosonography and magnetic resonance imaging in the diagnosis of high anal fistulae – a comparison

open access: yesJournal of Ultrasonography, 2014
Anal fistula is a benign inflammatory disease with unclear etiology which develops in approximately 10 in 100 000 adult patients. Surgical treatment of fistulae is associated with a risk of damaging anal sphincters.

Comorbidity burden and outcomes of endoscopic ultrasound‐guided treatment of pancreatic fluid collections: Multicenter study with nationwide data‐based validation

open access: yesDigestive Endoscopy, Volume 37, Issue 4, Page 413-425, April 2025.
Objectives The appropriate holistic management is mandatory for successful endoscopic ultrasound (EUS)‐guided treatment of pancreatic fluid collections (PFCs). However, comorbidity status has not been fully examined in relation to clinical outcomes of this treatment.

The Role of Endoscopic Ultrasound in Assessing Portal Hypertension: A State‐of‐the‐Art Literature Review and Evolving Perspectives

open access: yesLiver International, Volume 45, Issue 4, April 2025.
ABSTRACT Background Portal hypertension (PH) is a critical complication in patients with hepatic diseases. Its accurate evaluation is essential for early diagnosis, risk stratification, and management. Endoscopic ultrasound (EUS) has emerged as a promising diagnostic tool, offering high‐resolution imaging of the portal venous system, hepatic ...
