International Multidisciplinary Consensus Report on Definitions, Diagnostic Criteria, and Management of Fatty Pancreas: A Joint Statement Endorsed by EPC, APA, EASD, EASL, ESGAR, ESGE, ESP, ESPCG, ESPEN, ESPGHAN, IAP, JPS, KPBA, LAPSG, and UEG

open access: yesUnited European Gastroenterology Journal, Volume 14, Issue 1, February 2026.
ABSTRACT This international, multidisciplinary consensus report represents the first effort to systematically define and characterize fatty pancreas. A key outcome of this endeavor was the recommendation to adopt “fatty pancreas” as the standardized and inclusive term to describe all forms of fat accumulation in the pancreas.

Discovering Hereditary Risk Through Surveillance: A Prospective Genetic Analysis of Individuals With Familial Pancreatic Cancer

open access: yesUnited European Gastroenterology Journal, Volume 14, Issue 1, February 2026.
ABSTRACT Background Little is known about the genetic background of individuals with familial pancreatic cancer (PC). Integrating germline testing into surveillance may uncover previously unrecognized hereditary susceptibility and expand prevention strategies beyond BRCA testing alone. This study evaluated the genetic landscape of high‐risk individuals

Current Practices in Histological Diagnosis and Management of Asymptomatic Gastric Subepithelial Lesions: A Multicenter Survey in Korea [PDF]

open access: yesThe Korean Journal of Helicobacter and Upper Gastrointestinal Research
Objectives Gastric subepithelial lesions (SELs) are elevated lesions covered by normal mucosa often detected during esophagogastroduodenoscopy. Because of its submucosal location, accurate diagnosis through biopsy is challenging.

Endoscopic Diagnosis of Gastric Subepithelial Lesions < 20 mm: Current Strategies and Emerging Solutions

open access: yesDigestive Endoscopy, Volume 38, Issue 1, January 2026.
ABSTRACT Gastric subepithelial lesions (SELs) < 20 mm are frequently identified during routine endoscopy and account for approximately 90% of all SELs. Although most are benign, a substantial proportion represents gastrointestinal stromal tumors (GISTs), which carry malignant potential even at this small size.

Prospective, open, multi-centre phase I/II trial to assess safety and efficacy of neoadjuvant radiochemotherapy with docetaxel and oxaliplatin in patients with adenocarcinoma of the oesophagogastric junction [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Background: This phase I/II-trial assessed the dose-limiting toxicities (DLT) and maximum tolerated dose (MTD) of neoadjuvant radiochemotherapy (RCT) with docetaxel and oxaliplatin in patients with locally advanced adenocarcinoma of the oesophagogastric ...
