Vessel‐associated microglia are differentially activated and distributed in relation to systemic infection and Alzheimer's disease

This post‐mortem study revealed an increased density of vessel‐associated microglia (VAM) in the temporal lobe in systemic infection and Alzheimer's disease. VAM density was related to brain cytokine levels and markers of cerebrovascular dysfunction and BBB leakage indicating that activated VAM contributes to neurovascular injury in Alzheimer's disease.

Endothelial Netrin‐4 regulates oligodendrocyte precursor cell proliferation and differentiation via ET‐1 signaling in preterm white matter injury

Our findings show early increased Netrin‐4 in mice with PWMI boosts angiogenesis and OPCs proliferation. Later, high levels hinder OPCs differentiation into mature cells, impairing myelination. Background and Purpose The contribution of obesity to pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH) pathophysiology remains poorly understood. Adipose tissue synthesises estrogens via cytochrome P450 (CYP) 19A1 (aromatase), whereas circulating estrogens are metabolised in the lung by CYP1A1.
