Abstract Background Benzodiazepines, zopiclone, and zolpidem account for the most common hypnotics overdose in Hong Kong. Patients with severe benzodiazepines, zopiclone, or zolpidem overdose presenting in a comatose state are at risk of development of aspiration pneumonia.
