Equine Veterinary Education, EarlyView.Summary A 9‐year‐old male castrated Standardbred was presented for evaluation of a comminuted right front first phalanx fracture. On initial clinical examination, mild haemoconcentration and increased vital parameters were noted. After overnight hospitalisation, the horse underwent general anaesthesia for surgical fracture repair.

Improper tube fixation causing a leaky cuff
Journal of Emergencies, Trauma and Shock, 2010 Leaking endotracheal tube cuffs are common problems in intensive care units. We report a case wherein the inflation tube was damaged by the adhesive plaster used for tube fixation and resulted in leaking endotracheal tube cuff.

Equine Veterinary Education, EarlyView.Summary Post‐anaesthetic respiratory obstruction in the horse is a relatively infrequent but immediately consequential occurrence. Prompt determination of the extent and source of the obstruction guides the next steps. Potential sources of the obstruction include the nares, occlusion of the nasal passages, and laryngotracheal dysfunction.
