A Robotic Platform For Endovascular Aneurysm Repair [PDF]

open access: yes2019 IEEE/ASME International Conference on Advanced Intelligent Mechatronics (AIM), 2019
An EndoVascular Aneurysm Repair (EVAR) is a procedure used to fix an aneurysm of the aorta. In this procedure, a guide is inserted by the femoral artery. This guide goes through to the height of the aneurysm and then a catheter follows the guide. Next, a stent graft is deployed in order to repair the aortic aneurysm.

The efficacy of immediate bridging thoracic endovascular aortic repair for ruptured infected thoracic aortic aneurysms

open access: yesJournal of Vascular Surgery Cases and Innovative Techniques, 2019
Herein we describe four cases of ruptured infected thoracic aortic aneurysm. All patients underwent emergent thoracic endovascular aortic repair to stabilize hemodynamics.

A challenging double bubble thoracic aortic and proximal subclavian aneurysm treated via transapical access

open access: yesJournal of Vascular Surgery Cases and Innovative Techniques, 2020
This case report describes a patient with a distal aortic arch and left subclavian artery aneurysm who was considered unsuitable for open surgical repair because of comorbidities and previous bypass surgery.

Histological evaluation of the aortic wall response following endovascular aneurysm repair and endovascular aneurysm sealing

open access: yesJVS - Vascular Science, 2023
Objective: The Nellix endovascular aneurysm sealing (EVAS) system was developed as an alternative to conventional endovascular aneurysm repair (EVAR) to minimize endoleaks.

Computational fluid dynamicaccuracy in mimicking changes in blood hemodynamics in patients with acute type IIIb aortic dissection treated with TEVAR [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Background: We aimed to verify the accuracy of the Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) algorithm for blood flow reconstruction for type IIIb aortic dissection (TBAD) before and after thoracic endovascular aortic repair (TEVAR).

Endovascular Aneurysm Repair of Ruptured Abdominal Aortic Aneurysms [PDF]

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Vascular and Endovascular Surgery, 2014
REVAR option increases the proportion receiving repair. It is not just postoperative survival that may be improved, but the option of treatment by REVAR may also increase the proportion being offered repair leading to increased rupture survival.

Aorto-enteric Fistula After Endovascular Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm Repair for Behcet's Disease Patient: A Case Report

open access: yesEJVES Short Reports, 2018
Introduction: A 42 year old male with Behcet's disease (BD) had endovascular treatment of a symptomatic infrarenal abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA). Thirteen months later he developed haematemesis and melaena.

Endovascular repair combined with staged drainage for the treatment of infectious aortic aneurysm: a case report

open access: yesBMC Cardiovascular Disorders, 2020
Background Infectious aortic aneurysm, defined as a focal dilation of an infectious arterial wall, is an uncommon life-threatening disease. Compared with open surgery, endovascular repair yields acceptable clinical outcomes.

Endovascular aneurysm repair (EVAR)

open access: yesInternational Journal of Surgery, 2008
Endovascular repair of an abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA) is an evolving technology which continues to be practiced in more and more centres worldwide in an effort to avoid major abdominal surgery and its associated morbidity and mortality. As with conventional open surgery, the objective of endovascular management is to provide a durable repair ...
