Endovascular procedures for cerebrovenous disorders
2009Cerebral venous anomalies may have a variety of clinical consequences. MR or CT venogram can assist the imaging diagnosis; yet, cerebral angiogram may be required to confirm or establish the correct diagnosis. Venous anomalies predisposing venous hypertension may be categorized into three major entities such as congenital variations, outflow ...

Retrospective Comparison of Open versus Endovascular Procedures for Takayasu Arteritis
Journal of Rheumatology, 2016Objective. To compare the outcomes between vascular surgery and endovascular procedures in a cohort of patients with Takayasu arteritis (TA). Methods. A retrospective cohort study was conducted of patients with TA who underwent vascular interventions at ...

Vascular access-related procedures commonly performed by nephrologists include percutaneous balloon angioplasty, intravascular coil and stent insertion, thrombectomy, vascular mapping and tunneled hemodialysis catheter-related procedures. In addition, using vein obliteration and percutaneous balloon angioplasty techniques, nephrologists have recently ...

Endovascular Procedures for Renovascular Disease
DeckerMed Vascular and Endovascular Surgery, 2012While open surgical revascularization remains the gold standard, other endovascular techniques for renal revascularization, including percutaneous transluminal angioplasty with or without endoluminal stent placement (PTAS), have emerged as another option.

RADIATION EXPOSURE DURING ENDOVASCULAR PROCEDURES
Operative Neurosurgery, 2008The duration of fluoroscopy exposure is routinely recorded as part of endovascular procedures. However, to better relate the duration of exposure to actual doses of surface and intracranial radiation, we compared surface doses during endovascular procedures with intracranial doses in a cadaver model exposed to lateral fluoroscopy.Optically stimulated ...

Endovascular Procedures for Mesenteric Ischemia
DeckerMed Vascular and Endovascular Surgery, 2017Mesenteric ischemia is a condition caused by compromised blood flow to the small and large intestines. Patients can present with chronic mesenteric ischemia (CMI), most commonly due to atherosclerosis, or acute mesenteric ischemia (AMI), most commonly due to arterial thrombosis or arterial embolism.

Advanced Imaging Applications for Endovascular Procedures
Neurosurgery Clinics of North America, 2009Advanced imaging techniques, particularly in CT and MRI, have become state-of-the-art to support the performance of interventional neuroradiologic procedures. Multidetector CT scanners with submillimeter detectors and real-time workstations have allowed the use of a noninvasive study, CT angiography, as a first-line diagnostic study at many ...

Endovascular Procedures with CTA and MRA Roadmapping
Journal of Neuroimaging, 2010Prior to interventional neuroradiology procedures, many patients undergo noninvasive studies such as computed tomography angiography (CTA) and magnetic resonance angiography (MRA). The ability to use these studies during invasive neuroangiographic procedures reduces additional contrast and radiation exposure, and allows for the integration of ...

Quality Improvement for Endovascular Procedures
2005Quality improvement (QI) is not usually a popular topic for discussion. It brings images of a bureaucratic ‘‘big brother’’ watching and punishing human errors with no benefit to patients. On the other hand, QI is ideally intended to document the quality of care one provides in clinically relevant ways with opportunities to improve.

New catheter for endovascular interventional procedures.
Radiology, 1987A new catheter suitable for selective angiography, embolization, and controlled infusion of chemotherapeutic agents is described. The catheter is made from a composite construction of polyethylene; it is graded in shaft thickness and outer diameter from a 2.7-F tip to a 3-F (1.0-mm) proximal section.
