Percutaneous suction thrombectomy of large tumor thrombus causing massive pulmonary embolism

open access: yesJournal of Vascular Surgery Cases and Innovative Techniques, 2018
We describe a patient who underwent a renal cell carcinoma resection with inferior vena cava thrombectomy complicated by tumor embolization. This resulted in massive pulmonary embolism requiring venous-arterial extracorporeal membrane oxygenation.

Frequency of Blood-Brain Barrier Disruption Post-Endovascular Therapy and Multiple Thrombectomy Passes in Acute Ischemic Stroke Patients.

open access: yesStroke, 2019
Background and Purpose- The high prevalence of hyperintense acute reperfusion marker (HARM) seen after endovascular therapy is suggestive of blood-brain barrier disruption and hemorrhage risk and may be attributable to multiple thrombectomy passes needed

Aortic Dissection With Pseudoaneurysm Formation Masquerading as Pulmonary Embolism After Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement

open access: yesCatheterization and Cardiovascular Interventions, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR) is a commonly performed procedure for the treatment of severe aortic stenosis. While it is generally considered a low‐risk procedure, one of the rare potentially life‐threatening complications includes aortic dissection.

Artificial intelligence-powered remote monitoring for lower extremity wound management: A randomized controlled trial protocol

open access: yesJVS-Vascular Insights
Background: Lower extremity wounds associated with diabetes are a serious global health issue, with diabetic foot ulcers affecting 12% to 25% of adults with diabetes and accounting for 80% to 90% of all lower extremity amputations in the United States ...

Endovascular Therapy for Chronic Mesenteric Ischemia

open access: yesJournal of the American College of Cardiology, 2006
We sought to describe the outcomes of a consecutive series of patients with chronic mesenteric ischemia (CMI) who were treated with percutaneous stent revascularization.Historically, the treatment for CMI has been surgical revascularization. However, surgery carries a significant procedural complication rate and mortality.Fifty-nine consecutive ...

Endovascular Therapy in Ischemic Stroke With Acute Large‐Vessel Occlusion: Recovery by Endovascular Salvage for Cerebral Ultra‐Acute Embolism Japan Registry 2

open access: yesJournal of the American Heart Association : Cardiovascular and Cerebrovascular Disease, 2018
Background Endovascular therapy has been shown to be effective in patients with acute cerebral large‐vessel occlusion, but real‐world efficacies are unknown.

Impact of Epicardial plaQUe Composition and geomeTry on Coronary hEmodynamics and Flow in Patients With Coronary Artery Disease (iEquate)

open access: yesCatheterization and Cardiovascular Interventions, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Invasive coronary physiology including fractional flow reserve (FFR), instantaneous wave‐free ratio (iFR), and coronary flow reserve (CFR) are guideline‐endorsed tools to guide the management of coronary artery disease (CAD). Complex factors impact and confound these assessments, and discordance between modalities complicates ...

In‐Hospital Outcomes of Simultaneous and Staged Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement and Endovascular Aneurysm Repair

open access: yesCatheterization and Cardiovascular Interventions, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Introduction Patients with aortic aneurysms are at elevated risk of rupture, dissection and death during and after transcatheter aortic valve repair (TAVR), often requiring consideration for endovascular aneurysm repair (EVAR) at the time of TAVR. However, data comparing outcomes of simultaneous versus staged TAVR‐EVAR are limited.
