Nitropyrazole based tricyclic nitrogen-rich cation salts: A new class of promising insensitive energetic materials

open access: yesFirePhysChem, 2021
Nitrogen-rich compound 5,5′-(4-nitro-1H-pyrazole-3,5-diyl)-bis-(4H-1,2,4-triazole-3,4-diamine) (4) and its energetic salts (5–8) were synthesized. Compounds 4–7 posesse satisfactory mechanical sensitivity (IS > 40 J, FS > 360 N).

Shape of the 4.438 MeV gamma-ray line of ^12C from proton and alpha-particle induced reactions on ^12C and ^16O

open access: yes, 2001
We calculated in detail the angular distribution of gamma-rays and the resulting shape of the gamma-ray line produced by the nuclear deexcitation of the 4.439 MeV state of ^12C following proton and alpha-particle interactions with ^12C and ^16O in the ...

Stereotactic Body Radiation Therapy for Pediatric, Adolescent, and Young Adult Patients With Osteosarcoma: Local Control Outcomes With Dosimetric Analysis

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background/Objectives Osteosarcoma is a radioresistant tumor that may benefit from stereotactic body radiation therapy (SBRT) for locoregional control in metastatic/recurrent disease. We report institutional practice patterns, outcomes, toxicity, and failures in osteosarcoma patients treated with SBRT.

Changes in Body Composition in Children and Young People Undergoing Treatment for Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia: A Systematic Review and Meta‐Analysis

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Ongoing evidence indicates increased risk of sarcopenic obesity among children and young people (CYP) with acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL), often beginning early in treatment, persisting into survivorship. This review evaluates current literature on body composition in CYP with ALL during and after treatment.

Transition to a Superconductor with Insulating Cavities

open access: yes, 2004
An extreme type II superconductor with internal insulating regions, namely cavities, is studied here. We find that the cavity-bearing superconductor has lower energy than the defect-free superconductor above a critical magnetic induction $B^*$ for ...

Patient‐Level Barriers and Facilitators to Inpatient Physical Therapy in Adolescents and Young Adults With a Hematological Malignancy: A Qualitative Study

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Despite their increased risk for functional impairment resulting from cancer and its treatments, few adolescents and young adults (AYAs) with a hematological malignancy receive the recommended or therapeutic dose of exercise per week during inpatient hospitalizations.

Structures and Energetic Properties of Two New Salts Comprising the 5,5'-Azotetrazolate Dianion

open access: yesCrystals, 2015
Two new potentially energetic salts comprising the 5,5'-azotetrazolate dianion have been prepared and structurally characterized. The new azotetrazolates are tetraphenylphosphonium-5,5'-azotetrazolate (1) and 1H-1,2,4-triazole-1-carboxamidine-5,5 ...

Ab initio study of sodium cointercalation with diglyme molecule into graphite

open access: yes, 2017
The cointercalation of sodium with the solvent organic molecule into graphite can resolve difficulty of forming the stage-I Na-graphite intercalation compound, which is a predominant anode of Na-ion battery.

Lattice thermal conductivity of Ti$_x$Zr$_y$Hf$_{1-x-y}$NiSn half-Heusler alloys calculated from first principles: Key role of nature of phonon modes [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
In spite of their relatively high lattice thermal conductivity $\kappa_{\ell}$, the XNiSn (X=Ti, Zr or Hf) half-Heusler compounds are good thermoelectric materials. Previous studies have shown that $\kappa_{\ell}$ can be reduced by sublattice-alloying on

Exercise Interventions in Children, Adolescents and Young Adults With Paediatric Bone Tumours—A Systematic Review

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Bone tumours present significant challenges for affected patients, as multimodal therapy often leads to prolonged physical limitations. This is particularly critical during childhood and adolescence, as it can negatively impact physiological development and psychosocial resilience.
