Emergent Freestanding Complex Oxide Membranes for Multifunctional Applications
This review surveys freestanding oxide membranes and covers fabrication and three pathways for studies and devices: strain‐free and strained membranes, and van der Waals‐integrated heterostructures. We show how coupled oxide responses map onto these routes and cross‐couple to expand behaviors.

Finite temperature fermionic condensate and energy–momentum tensor in cosmic string spacetime
Here we analyze the expectation value of the fermionic condensate and the energy–momentum tensor associated with a massive charged fermionic quantum field with a nonzero chemical potential propagating in a magnetic-flux-carrying cosmic string in thermal ...

Atomically Resolved Acoustic Dynamics Coupled with Magnetic Order in a Van der Waals Antiferromagnet
Magnetically coupled acoustic phonon modes (f1, f2, f3) are captured by ultrafast X‐ray diffraction in a prototypical van der Waals antiferromagnet FePS3, including their atomic displacement vectors (u) and the acoustic propagation wave vectors (k). Notably, the atomic displacement vector and amplitude of these modes, represented by the direction and ...

On scalaron decay via the trace of energy-momentum tensor
In some inflation scenarios such as R 2 inflation, a gravitational scalar degrees of freedom called scalaron is identified as inflaton. Scalaron linearly couples to matter via the trace of energy-momentum tensor.

Terahertz Volume Plasmon‐Polariton Modulation in All‐Dielectric Hyperbolic Metamaterials
THz volume plasmon‐polariton (VPP) propagation through plasmon‐based hyperbolic metamaterials, made of alternating layers of doped and undoped III‐V semiconductors. Abstract The development of plasmonics and related applications in the terahertz range faces limitations due to the intrinsic high electron density of the standard metals.

Trapping horizon and negative energy
Assuming spherical symmetry and the semi-classical Einstein equation, we prove that, for the observers on top of the trapping horizon, the vacuum energy-momentum tensor is always that of an ingoing negative energy flux at the speed of light with a ...

Photonics of Topological Magnetic Textures
Localized noncollinear magetic textures imprint their geometry and topology onto traversing photonic fields endowing them with orbital angular‐momentum, chirality, and magnetoelectric densities. Abstract Topological textures in magnetically ordered materials are an important case studies for fundamental research with promising applications in data ...
