Condensation Energy in a Superconductor for All Temperatures

Journal of Low Temperature Physics, 2020
An exact analytical expression for the condensation energy $$E_{\text{cond}} \left( T \right)$$ of a phonon-driven superconductor for all absolute temperatures $$T$$ and for any coupling strength is introduced so as to calculate the Helmholtz free energy difference $$F_{s} \left( T \right) - F_{n} \left( T \right)$$ between superconducting $$\

Per-call Energy Saving Strategies in All-to-All Communications

2011
With the increase in the peak performance of modern computing platforms, their energy consumption grows as well, which may lead to overwhelming operating costs and failure rates. Techniques, such as Dynamic Voltage and Frequency Scaling (called DVFS) and CPU Clock Modulation (called throttling) are often used to reduce the power consumption of the ...

Gratings that diffract all incident energy*

Journal of the Optical Society of America, 1977
Perfect blazing of reflection gratings to the n = −1 spectral order for both TE and TM polarizations simultaneously, as reported recently, is shown to be possible with rectangular grooves in 19.5° < θi < 59.4°, where θi is the angle of incidence from the surface normal. Design dimensions are verified experimentally at 35 GHz.

All About Energy

2012
Over the past 250 years, energy has driven an enormous expansion of the global population, and it has dramatically changed the way we live. Beginning in the second half of the 18th century, the Industrial Revolution—enabled by cheap and ample supplies of coal—brought about many new inventions, large-scale industrial production, and jobs for many.

The Sustainable Energy for All Design Scenario

2017
Nowadays, is a consolidated understanding that “Sustainable development is not possible without Sustainable Energy for All” (United Nation Decade, 2014-2024). Furthermore, Distributed Renewable Energies (DRE) are seen as key technical systems to achieve this aim.

All the Energy You Dream of

2013
You rightly never dared to dream it, because you were afraid it wasn’t clean and it could release zillions of tons of CO2 or more into the atmosphere, damaging irreversibly our poor planet.

The Ecobonus Incentive Scheme and Energy Poverty: Is Energy Efficiency for All?

2021
With 2017, National Energy Strategy, Italy introduced a definition of energy poverty, combining three elements: the presence of a high level of energy expenditure, an amount of total expenditure below the relative poverty threshold and a null value for the purchase of heating products. The Integrated National Plan for Energy and Climate adopts the same

The Need for All Available Sources of Energy

1987
The economies of the world are in the process of adjustment and transition from oil dominated energy systems towards more balanced energy systems. The nature of this process is more complex than simply characterising it as one of broadening the base of the energy system. It is one touching upon the basis of economics.
