Analysis of separation energies

Annals of Physics, 1971
The various quantities, calculated with microscopic models, which have been called separation energies are discussed and related. The relationship of these quantities to experimentally observed quantities is also discussed. The Hartree-Fock method provides the framework for all discussions and is used to carry out calculations of the various quantities

The topografiner with energy analysis

2013 26th International Vacuum Nanoelectronics Conference (IVNC), 2013
The topografiner technology, developed originally at the National Bureau of Standards (now National Institute of Standards and Technology) with the aim of measuring the surface micro-topography, is less widespread than scanning tunneling microscopy but has a remarkable property: the electrons can escape the tip-surface junction.

Energy Analysis of Renewable Energy Sources

Energy Policy, 1991
This paper examines the application of energy analysis to the assessment of renewable energy sources. The basic features, terms, conventions and methods of energy analysis which were established during the 1970s are introduced and the value of energy analysis as a means of evaluating new energy technologies is explained in relation to current concern ...

Available energy analysis

Energy Conversion and Management, 1985
Abstract Energy, like many other commodities, should not be evaluated only on its quantity but also on its quality. Conventional energy analysis, based on the first law of thermodynamics, evaluates energy mainly on its quantity. However, available energy (availability) analysis, based on the second law of thermodynamics, considers also the quality of

Sustainable Energy Microsystem (SEM): preliminary energy analysis

2012 IEEE PES Innovative Smart Grid Technologies (ISGT), 2012
The paper deals with innovative idea that is to move beyond the current concept of smart grid, proposing a new architecture, called Sustainable Energy Microsystem (SEM). The proposed design includes energy sub-systems currently independent: high efficiency buildings, sustainable mobility systems, dispersed generation from renewables and Combined Heat ...

Energy Analysis and Energy Intensities for India

2007
This chapter gives a general introduction to energy analysis. At the outset, a brief description of the theory of energy analysis and the techniques used are discussed. Following that, the application of the input-output technique of energy analysis to calculate energy intensities for India is presented.

A model for energy analysis in supermarkets

Energy and Buildings, 2006
Abstract A simple supermarket energy model that takes into account the following irreversibilities: external load passing through the walls, heat leakage between cold display cases and warm selling area, and electrical heating is developed. The analysis carried out with this model demonstrates that the energy requirement as a function of the external
