Identifying communities within energy landscapes [PDF]
Potential energy landscapes can be represented as a network of minima linked by transition states. The community structure of such networks has been obtained for a series of small Lennard-Jones clusters. This community structure is compared to the concept of funnels in the potential energy landscape.

The call for social science to engage with energy infrastructures and users to enable low‐carbon transitions that benefit the poor in the Global South is welcome, but its urgency risks epistemic distortion. The theme of “community” in the social studies of energy needs critical reflection, disambiguation, and interrogation with empirical case studies ...

Assembling community energy democracies [PDF]
Calls for greater ‘energy democracy’ foresee a greater role for voluntary sector activity – including through community groups’ ownership of energy projects – to help produce more open, participatory and just energy systems. This article offers a novel conceptualisation of democracy through viewing community energy projects as assemblages of ...

Energy Community Flexibility Solutions to Improve Users’ Wellbeing
Energy communities, mostly microgrid based, are a key stakeholder of modern electrical power grids. Operating a microgrid based energy community is a challenging topic due to the involved uncertainties, complexities and often conflicting objectives.
