Circulating microRNA signatures of cachexia and cancer in Canis familiaris as a comparative oncology model for human disease

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Circulating microRNAs as biomarkers of cachexia and sex‐specific cancer in senior dogs. In 25 client‐owned dogs, four circulating miRNAs (miR‐15a, miR‐15b, miR‐16, miR‐140) were downregulated in cachexia, with miR‐16 the strongest individual biomarker (AUC = 0.899).

Decay rates of magnetoelastic waves in an unbounded conductive medium

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Differential Equations, 2011
We study the uniform decay of the total energy of solutions for a system in magnetoelasticity with localized damping near infinity in an exterior 3-D domain.

PANoptosis in the pathogenesis of myelodysplastic syndromes

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
PANoptosis, a combination of three types of programmed cell death, is mediated by a large protein complex called a PANoptosome. In healthy bone marrow hematopoietic cells, PANoptosis is restricted by inhibitory signaling. In MDS, bone marrow cells become sensitive to the PANoptotic stimuli due to the aberrant inactivation of inhibitory signaling or ...

Energy Decay of Solutions for a System of Higher-Order Kirchhoff Type Equations

open access: yesJournal of New Theory, 2019
In this work, we considered asystem of higher-order Kirchhoff type equations with initial and boundaryconditions in a bounded domain. Under suitable conditions, we proved an energydecay result by Nakao's inequality techniques.

A New Perspective on the Energy Decay of the Timoshenko–Ehrenfest System: The Non-Local Truncated Approach

open access: yesMathematics
This paper presents a new perspective on the energy decay of a nonlocal truncated Timoshenko–Ehrenfest system. By using the non local elasticity theory, this model is a generalization of the standard truncated Timoshenko system. The well-posedness of the

Polarization‐resolved femtosecond Vis/IR spectroscopy tailored for resolving weak signals in biological samples using minimal sample volume

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Unique biological samples, such as site‐specific mutant proteins, are available only in limited quantities. Here, we present a polarization‐resolved transient infrared spectroscopy setup with referencing to improve signal‐to‐noise tailored towards tracing small signals. We provide an overview of characterizing the excitation conditions for polarization‐

Analysis and numerical simulation of a parabolic equation with non-local terms

open access: yesSelecciones Matemáticas
In this work, we investigate the existence and uniqueness of global strong solutions, as well as the exponential decay of these solutions in bounded domains, for an initial-boundary value problem associated with parabolic equations involving nonlocal ...

Pulse length dependence on the decay of the integrated pulse energy/Integruoto impulso energijos slopimo priklausomybė nuo skirtingų impulso ilgių

open access: yesJournal of Civil Engineering and Management, 2000
The paper deals with the influence of the pulse length on the decay of the sound field energy. Six pulse lengths— 2000, 2500, 3000, 3500, 4000 and 4500 ms—were selected for investigations.

Triggering Higgs vacuum decay

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2023
The Standard Model Higgs potential seems unstable at field values h > h top ~ 1010 GeV. Vacuum decay can be triggered by N ~ 4π/λ ~ 1000 overlapped Higgs bosons with energy λ $$ \sqrt{\lambda } $$ h top. However, this configuration is stimulated by ultra-

A light‐triggered Time‐Resolved X‐ray Solution Scattering (TR‐XSS) workflow with application to protein conformational dynamics

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Time‐resolved X‐ray solution scattering captures how proteins change shape in real time under near‐native conditions. This article presents a practical workflow for light‐triggered TR‐XSS experiments, from data collection to structural refinement. Using a calcium‐transporting membrane protein as an example, the approach can be broadly applied to study ...
