Assessment of uncertainties for measurements of total near-normal emissivity of low-emissivity foils with an industrial emissometer [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Sensors and Sensor Systems, 2021
The TIR100-2 emissometer (manufactured by Inglas GmbH & Co.KG) is an emissivity measurement device used by several producers of thermal insulation products for buildings and by some organizations certifying performance of insulation products.

Spectral Detection of Frequency-Sparse Signals: Compressed Sensing vs. Sweeping Spectrum Scanning

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2021
In cognitive radio (CR) systems, compressed sensing (CS) has emerged as a promising approach for detecting wireless spectrum that is underutilized (i.e., sparse in the frequency domain).

Applying Artificial Intelligence Methods to Detect and Classify Fish Calls from the Northern Gulf of Mexico

open access: yesJournal of Marine Science and Engineering, 2021
Passive acoustic monitoring is a method that is commonly used to collect long-term data on soniferous animal presence and abundance. However, these large datasets require substantial effort for manual analysis; therefore, automatic methods are a more ...

A Comparison on Energy Detector and CNN-based Detector

open access: yes2020 28th Signal Processing and Communications Applications Conference (SIU), 2020
In today's wireless communication technology, users are classified and assigned to the spectrum by licensing method. There are two types of users in cognitive radio technology, licensed and unlicensed. While primary users use a fixed frequency band, secondary users can detect frequency gaps by different methods, enabling communication when primary ...

Measurement of Energy Eigenstates by a Slow Detector [PDF]

open access: yesPhysical Review Letters, 2007
We propose a method for a weak continuous measurement of the energy eigenstates of a fast quantum system by means of a "slow" detector. Such a detector is only sensitive to slowly-changing variables, e. g. energy, while its back-action can be limited solely to decoherence of the eigenstate superpositions.

Compressive sensing based energy detector [PDF]

open access: yes2016 24th European Signal Processing Conference (EUSIPCO), 2016
While most of research in Compressive Sensing (CS) has been focused on reconstruction of the sparse signal from very fewer samples than the ones required by the Shannon-Nyquist sampling theorem, recently there has been a growing interest in performing signal processing directly in the measurement domain.

Suboptimal Approach to Distributed Detection in Cognitive Radio Networks

open access: yesJournal of Telecommunications and Information Technology, 2021
In this paper a dynamic spectrum access (DSA) concept is explored for mitigating the paucity of spectral bandwidth in cognitive radio (CR) for opportunistic, dynamic access of the spectrum without any interference.
