On the relation between energy efficiency and spectral efficiency of multiple-antenna systems [PDF]
Motivated by the increasing interest in energy-efficient communication systems, the relation between energy efficiency (EE) and spectral efficiency (SE) for multiple-input-multiple-output (MIMO) systems is investigated in this paper.

An isoform of 14‐3‐3 protein regulates transbilayer lipid movement at the plasma membrane
Loss of 14‐3‐3ζ in CHO cells confers resistance to exogenous phosphatidylserine (PS) and impairs endocytosis‐independent inward flip‐flop of fluorescent PS at the plasma membrane. RNAi‐mediated knockdown reproduces this defect, while no additive effect is seen in ATP11C‐deficient cells.

The Blast Energy Efficiency of GRBs
Using data mostly assembled by previous authors, we consider the linear correlation between the apparent radiative efficiency $\epsilon_{\gamma}$ (defined as the ratio of isotropic equivalent radiative output to inferred isotropic equivalent kinetic ...

Energy Efficiency and Spectral Efficiency Tradeoff in Device-to-Device (D2D) Communications [PDF]
In this letter, we investigate the tradeoff between energy efficiency (EE) and spectral efficiency (SE) in device-to-device (D2D) communications underlaying cellular networks with uplink channel reuse.

Plasma membranes contain dynamic nanoscale domains that organize lipids and receptors. Because viruses operate at similar scales, this architecture shapes early infection steps, including attachment, receptor engagement, and entry. Using influenza A virus and HIV‐1 as examples, we highlight how receptor nanoclusters, multivalent glycan interactions ...

The role of engineering in organic farming – case energy crops [PDF]
Energy self-reliance and a closed nutrient cycle are basic principles of organic farming ever since. Engineering sciences methods in energy accounting may support efforts to introduce these principles into praxis.
