Criterion for evaluating vehicle performance

open access: yesВестник Научно-исследовательского института железнодорожного транспорта, 2019
The article proposes to evaluate the efficiency of an autonomous vehicle, taking into account not only the energy consumption for motion, but also the time of motion, i. e. both factors — efficiency and performance — should be taken into account.

EXPERIMENTAL DETERMINATION OF ENERGY EFFICIENCY INDICATORS OF CONTAINER TRUCK OPERATION DNV-GL CLASS (13800 TEU)

open access: yesSHIP POWER PLANTS, 2023
За даними інформаційно-розважального журналу «Морський» [1] світовий парк контейнерів у 2021 році збільшився на 7,2 млн. TEU (14%), тобто до 50,5 млн. TEU. Разом з тим, зростання попиту на контейнерні перевезення водним транспортом характеризується різким зниженням продуктивності та сповільненням обертання контейнерів.

From mice to humans—divergent strategies for intestinal homeostasis and regeneration

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Recent advances such as organoid genome editing, xenotransplantation, imaging, and whole‐genome sequencing have enabled direct studies of human intestinal stem cells (ISCs). These studies reveal species‐specific features, including slower ISC proliferation, distinct injury responses, slower somatic mutation accumulation in humans, and an inverse ...

Impact of Alternative Fuels on IMO Indicators

open access: yesGases
This study provides a comprehensive analysis of the impact of different marine fuels such as heavy fuel oil (HFO), methane, methanol, ammonia, or hydrogen, on energy efficiency and pollutant emissions in maritime transport, using a combined application ...

Modelling stem cell differentiation related processes—A practical overview for biologists

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Stem cell differentiation is complex and difficult to control experimentally. This review introduces suitable computational modelling approaches that can support stem cell research, from mechanistic ODE and abstract models to multiscale and deep learning methods.

Application of operational-based strategic intervention model for evaluating office buildings energy efficiency performance

open access: yes, 2021
The operational management and strategic interventions for energy efficiency (EE) of facilities could be optimised if interventions and decision-making processes are well integrated. Hence, this study developed a conceptual dual model for building energy

Reconstructing enzyme evolution by protein engineering

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Natural enzyme evolution can be retraced by protein engineering methods such as directed evolution, rational design, and ancestral sequence reconstruction. These approaches reveal how enzymes emerged from ligand‐binding scaffolds, developed varying substrate preferences, formed oligomeric complexes, adapted to environmental changes, and evolved novel ...

An epithelial GPR35 isoform supports tumor‐associated transcriptional and metabolic phenotypes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
GPR35 generates two functionally distinct isoforms with previously unresolved roles. GPR35‐short mediates immune‐cell chemotaxis, while GPR35‐long is enriched in colorectal cancer epithelium, where it supports increased metabolism, proliferation, and tumor‐associated transcriptional programs.

Comparison of Model-Based Flow Rate Estimation Methods in Frequency-Converter-Driven Pumps and Fans [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
Fluid handling systems such as pump and fan systems are found to have a significant potential for energy efficiency improvements. To deliver the energy saving potential, there is a need for easily implementable methods to monitor the system output.

Peripheral lysosomes recruit PLEKHG3 to focal adhesions and restrain protrusion dynamics

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Proximity‐dependent labeling at the LAMTOR complex revealed the Rho GEF PLEKHG3 as a lysosome‐proximal protein directing the study toward the influence of lysosome positioning on actin dynamics and cell motility. We show that PLEKHG3 colocalizes with lysosomes at focal adhesion sites and observe that forced peripheral dispersion of lysosomes hinders ...
