INTERREGIONAL ANALYSIS OF ENERGY FLOWS
The analysis of energy problems is limited by the lack of adequate statistics and instruments for energy analysis. The Commmission of the European Communities, therefore, asked the Federal Statistical Office of the Federal Republic of Germany and the Ifo-Institute for Economic Research in Munich to establish input-output tables of energy flows ...

Optimizing the Mass Flow and Temperature Difference in a Cooling System for Energy Conservation
Conventional wisdom in recent times has been to raise the chilled water temperature to conserve chiller power. This is an effective and well-proven conservation strategy; however, it may be less optimal than other available alternatives. Reducing the fan

Objective Cam morphology, which is a significant risk factor for hip osteoarthritis, is commonly quantified by the alpha angle (AA). This study aims to explore the potential of the triangular index ratio (TIR) to quantify cam morphology on anteroposterior radiographs by assessing the association between TIR‐defined cam morphology and the development of

This article proposes a convergent adaptive observer for a damped wave PDE and an infinite‐dimensional ODE coupled in cascade using sampled‐in‐space ODE state measurements. The proposed observer estimates the distributed states of the PDE and ODE along with unknown PDE parameters and spatial input.
